Jews have a big divide of our own, between those that are religious and those that are not.
Those that are religious, especially the orthodox, tend to be very conservative / republican / pro-Israel.
Those that are secular, or do the watered-down religion, tend to be very liberal / democrat / anti- Israel.
Actually, Arab oil money was able to spin the papers to their favor. Not just with regard to Israel, but Islam generally. I heard of a researcher who went through decades of newspaper headlines and found Islam was always treated gently in the headlines.
