So episode 3 came out today. Anybody else watch it and want to talk about it?
So I own a few, 8 hockey jerseys and one softball jersey. Made me wonder if anyone else has one. Here's a link for those not in the know - https://www.geekyjerseys.com/
Boy does that movie hate men. Every man is dumb, to a letter. Every one has to be saved by a woman. And the women are ultimate badasses who don't even have to try. Add the dialouge that just jerks every female off. "You're such a badass" "How can you be so dumb when your sister is so smart" I know it's an old movie but fuck it was so noticeable.
I was talking to my brother about Obi-Wan, he hasn't watched any Disney; he disliked the prequels. And he said Star Wars doesn't matter anymore. I said well they make a lot of money. Anyways it got me thinking does anyone know if there is a way to measure the cultural reach of a franchise? If one doesn't exist what metrics could you use to determine it's impact?
So I know I said the leak finish could be okay depending on how they handled it, but after seeing the first two episodes all hope is lost. First and foremost the pacing is slowwww. And this isn't an Obi Wan story this is a Leia story. Not only is she the most precocious but she is the most compassionate and perfectly capable at ten. This is awful, they keep showing her outrunning grown ups but the child actress has such a small gait and you can tell she is slow. But of course she outruns everyone. Her mother tells her she would be a senator if she behaved, who would elect a ten year old? And Reva knows Vader is Anakin? I thought that shit wasn't common knowledge. And of course she kills her superior officer who wasn't white enough so they made him look like Uncle Fester. It's bad.
Hey President Mummy got to use his favorite line on tv.
It is straight up liberal pandering. They even manage to take a shot at Elon Musk. Anyways some of the stories were entertaining and it seems on brand for the community, Sci-Fi and such.
Like I said I enjoyed the movie but it is pretty much a 90s kid "member berries" If you are looking for something inoffensive I'd give it a try. I didn't see any sjw stuff, no identity politics or agenda pushing.
So I know must folks rightfully stopped watching or didn't watch in the first place. But in the finale Cortana takes over MC's body and saves the day. MC wasn't good enough so they killed him off, essentially, so Cortana could save the day.
Edit: I should add the Covenant human chick was killed by a Spartan chick but the Covenant was planning on killing her anyways.
