I saw it on TheDonald.win, but I can't find it now.
It was a comparison image between 1984 and Brave New World, saying that the times we are in are more like the latter than the former. It interested me due to the idea of not "we can't fight back" and more "why would we fight back."
Anyway, it would helpful if someone shared me the image. Btw, I guess this could be a Brave New World thread. Gotta love dystopian stories.
Luckily I just happened to see that image recently. Here you are.
I also disagree with the sentiment that we are not in a 1984-ish world. With the language being reformed and distorted. Being unable to resist things like masks and social distancing in order to retain a job or go to the store. The rampant censorship and narratives being created in media, the fact that every media company is owned by a conglomerate of 6 or so companies in the US.
As far as I can see it Brave New World is the surface level that people feel each day and presented to the public but it's supported by an undercurrent of 1984 level bureaucracy and management. It's all designed to engineer complacency, submissiveness, and ultimately slavery.
Thanks my dude.
As the other said, I think it either/or is just easy to digest. No compromises needed, just an extreme end and nothing else. It feels like some kind of autistic line of thought or something that newcomers will like.
