I'm sure even the police in Portland would choose not to show up if given the choice. Sadly, they're not allowed to make that decision. Only option is to quit -- which isn't much of an option.
In the city areas, a lot of them support this. Being in one of the other major cities for the state I see a lot of people who support this stuff or prefer to ignore it.
