D&D has been utterly compromised for many years now. Hell, I remember when I was watching Critical Role - a soylicious but actually pretty entertaining D&D stream - and at one point, they literally held a moment of silence for SOMETHING that happened related to Trump. They didn't even address it exactly, it was a very subtle virtue signal, they were just talking about "dark times". Thankfully that was the only time they shat the bed politically, directly. They MOSTLY kept any politics outside of the game, so I actually can recommend it.
The incredibly cringey congratulations of Blasey "Muh2Doors" Ford for her "bravery" killed me a little inside.
And now every character is fucking gay, every other society is a joining of refugees who are vastly different from the one they invaded but have somehow formed some beautiful new city...
Oddly, very limited gun/weapon laws. Campaign 3 will be w/ forks and butter knives, since all weapons and magic are banned. Call it "The UnKillables" or UK for short...
Oh? I stopped watching Critical Role season 2 after like 2 episodes not because of any sort of politics (there weren't any), but because it was just straight up boring and uninspired. I hated the characters, that's all. What did they do in season 2? I'd love to know the times they got political.
I don't really care what shirt somebody wants to wear, a shirt is a passive way of expressing yourself, it's not shoved down anyone's throat, it's not preachy, it's just "I think this". It's like wearing a badge. I'm fine with it.
I don't remember the druid and the ranger talking about woke stuff, do you remember what happened? And what happened with the refugees? I don't remember that either.
I'd love to hear some of the wokeness in season 2, though, just tell me a few that are more extreme than the rest.
Every time D&D comes up about people being angry about stereotyping, I remember that "elf" and "dwarf" used to be classes.
God, I've seen that. It's so fucking dumb, and I've seen old school players defend it as a good thing.
