Is a PC term to appease the left so they aren't "scary". Fuck that.
No. Its the actual terminology based on function.
It reduces the noise signature (muzzle report) and visible flash generated by the gun’s firing. Suppressors are typically constructed of a metal cylinder with internal baffle components to slow and cool down the escaping propellant gas and thus decrease the sound intensity of the muzzle blast. A suppressor only reduces the volume of supersonic ammo by about 30 decibles.
That won't exactly be silencing anything that isn't a .22 and even then you'll still hear it.
To be fair, there are a couple that could qualify as "silencers" but it's mostly super-specialist stuff that reduces the functionality of the firearm, as I understand it - stuff like the Welrod and the US equivalent.
Firstly, you're not wrong.
Secondly, I'm genuinely intrigued in this one.
Oh shit. I didn't know that was a thing. WANT.
Because its integral, the suppressor length is factored into the overall barrel length. So it doesn't count as an SBR, you only need one tax stamp for the suppressor.
And your average gun-illiterate person wouldn't immediately look at that and think its a suppressed weapon.
oh man i can tell I'm gonna love this community
Only one of those is a massive cuck whose wife’s boyfriend sometimes lets him use the Internet. I will let you decide which of those that is
