This came after the union, which represents teaching and research assistants, crawled through years of blog posts and interviews Hsu had conducted and criticized him for sharing content on genetic differences among different races.
If there are no genetic differences among races, then there is no natural reason for different races, which means that there is no such thing as white on black murders because you cannot ask the person who died what their race is.
An open letter signed by more than 500 faculty and staff at Michigan State argued Hsu supports the idea that intelligence is linked to genetics.
If genetics don’t play a factor in intelligence, then there is no such thing as having an intellectual disability, e.g. having Down’s syndrome doesn’t explain them having the intellectual capacity of a 5 year old.
The graduate union told The Fix that administrators should not share research that runs counter to public statements by the university.
Glad to see academic freedom is alive and well at Michigan State.
President Stanley released a statement on June 19 where he defended his decision to pressure Hsu to resign.
“I believe this is what is best for our university to continue our progress forward. The exchange of ideas is essential to higher education, and I fully support our faculty and their academic freedom to address the most difficult and controversial issues.” “But when senior administrators at MSU choose to speak out on any issue, they are viewed as speaking for the university as a whole. Their statements should not leave any room for doubt about their, or our, commitment to the success of faculty, staff and students,” he added.
*Unless it offends someone. Then we will ignore the science behind it.
It's a ridiculous taboo and unscientific to boot. We know so much more about genetics but people are terrified to explore exactly how genetics influence us when it comes to things like race. Nobody's arguing that we need to dehumanize or treat people worse because of their genetics, but claiming this as an untouchable issue just because it's been used poorly in the past isn't how science works. We could use this knowledge to help us, but it's been sealed off by the leftist mob.
Just look at James Watson. They're terrified because that exploration can ruin your career.
The sad thing is, if we could actually study this shit objectively, we could probably find targeted treatments for people who are prone to anti-social behaviors by their genetics.
