I’m a Yankees fan so I love it, but I understand how people will hate it because of how many championships we’ve won throughout the ancient history of baseball, but I’m curious if anyone here who isn’t a Yankees or Dodgers fan plans on watching it.
I know millions upon millions of Japanese people plan on watching it due to Ohtani, and it will probably be the most watched World Series of all time just because of Ohtani.
As a Cleveland fan? Absolutely disgusting. That league needs a salary cap so damn bad. No coincidence 3 of the 4 teams remaining were top 5 salaries. I won't watch, but then again I rarely watch when my team isn't in it except the occasional Game 7.

Probably the most comprehensive video on the history of baseball salaries and the relationship between players, the players’ union and owners to date, but a TL;DR on specifically the salary cap aspects are that the owners refuse to entertain the idea of the salary floor without a cap, but their floor is way lower than what the NBA and NFL has, so for the MLBPA, a salary cap is a non-starter.
The last time the owners tried to force a cap, the World Series got cancelled and the only reason that scabs didn’t get used was because Sonia Sotomayor put an injunction on the owners trying to use scabs and their unilateral version of the CBA that had a salary cap.
I understand why people like Hellsbells doesn’t like athletes, but the guys at the end of the bench/people who bounce between the majors and minors are WAY closer to me, you and him than they are to the owners.
Oh yeah I don't begrudge the players for wanting to get their bag. And I certainly like most of them more than most owners. Doesn't really change the idea that from a watchability and competition standpoint a salary cap would do tons of good.
