I feel like this is something we might need to talk about.
As you all know, we cannot guarantee that Trump will be sitting in the white house a year from now, as much as that would be a good thing to happen. Some of you might argue whether or not it would actually matter and whatnot (I still see a lot of debate), but I still feel that it would at least have enough of an impact that it would give us hope. (Admittedly, one of my liberal relatives has admitted he no longer thinks it would be the end of the world if Trump wins again).
However, what is scarier is the possibility of Kamala getting in. It might not be the end of the world, but I could easily see her continuing the damage that has been done during Biden's time - and I think that we all agree that there is a good chance the country goes to World War 3 under her.
At the same time, though, we need to remember what we gathered together under. I feel like even with the utterly abysmal state of the vast majority of the video games industry (and other industries) we have managed to do some good, such as exposing Zoe Quinn and her associated cronies, spreading awareness of Sweet Baby Inc, and working against a lot of the garbage in modern AAA titles like Assassin's creed: We Wuz Samurai and Dustborn. However, there is still a lot of shit to be done, as it looks like it will be a while before DEI policies or other bad decisions lead to the death of a major company (well, maybe Ubisoft, but I feel like they could get bought out to survive).
Regardless, in any case, there are some questions that need to be asked:
-
How do we survive four to eight years of Kamala, whether next year or a term following that?
-
Even if Trump makes it another four years, how do we take advantage of that? I fear even if he tries his best a lot of his best policies might get blocked by house democrats or doormat republicans.
-
Regardless of either of the last two questions, how can we ensure that more of the good fight is fought? Are there any more good efforts being done against DEI? Some good lists of consultancy firms like SBI might be a good start, at least.
If Trump wins it won’t really matter. If he passes strict immigration laws blue states won’t comply and the GOP is to weak willed to hold them accountable. You will have the governor of California or New Mexico meeting with Mexican officials on how orange man is bad. Leftists have shown time and time again that if they don’t win the riot, protest, complain for as long as it takes. The right will just let them be and talk about the “red wave” that never materializes. Even if Trump does win he is out after four years. The next president can just go in and instantly wave the magic pen and reverse everything. Democrats and some Republicans know this and they really only have to drag their feet for four years.
I believe this as well, though I want to add my usual. The reason the GOP won't hold them accountable is the same reason as always - the left controls the media (the traditional, and - most importantly - the internet based information). Whenever the GOP tries to respond in kind, to hold the left accountable, or whatever, the media just absolutely blasts the country with endless stories about how bad the right is, how they are "abusing" their power, how it's racist, etc. The GOP can be doing the exact same thing the DNC literally just did, and it doesn't matter - the media still springs into action, ignores/minimizes what the DNC did, and just absolutely RIPS on the right. This constant propaganda works on the large, disinterested, masses in the middle.
Once again (and, as always) that is the primary source of all our problems. Our system simply cannot survive in an environment in which only one party is held accountable, and only one party gets to decide what the "truth" is. The party that has that power can get away with almost anything it wants, and the party being persecuted by that power is nigh powerless to do anything at that point.
In any event, I think your first sentence hits the hardest. If Kamala wins, we get 4-8 more fucking years of massive illegal immigration changing our demographics until the entire country is in the same situation as California. Basically, it's going to be really hard to come back from. If Trump wins, we get 4 years of watching that aforementioned media going ULTRA negative on everything, finally reporting on how bad the economy is, and using Trump as the scapegoat. He'll probably be paralyzed from doing anything, just like last time, and after 4 years of constant media induced negativity (I really hope people remember how pervasive it was), the left will springboard back into power again (under the banner of "change"), and all we will have gotten is that 4 year reprieve.
Sure, if Trump wins, it's going to be super cathartic to watch/enjoy the Tantrum of all Tantrums, but it's still not going to mean much with regards to the course the country is on.
Until the left's ability to set/control the narrative the masses are forced to consume is taken seriously, and destroyed, nothing else can change. If we did destroy that, then - and only then - we could finally start doing the things to actually fix the country. We could start rooting these radicals out of all the places they have entrenched themselves (starting with education, and government), deporting the people who are here illegally, putting a stop to the immigration of people who don't share our values, etc.
Until then - as much as people don't want to hear it - the only hope is to have lots of kids, and make sure you are the one that "indoctrinates" them, before the left has a chance. It's the only way you are going to raise an army big enough to fight these people.
