Ads are completely predatory now. From scams to viruses to shitty political ads, it’s just not worth to use the web without a good adblocker. If the site gets around the ad blocker, it’s not worth to visit it.

Yeah, ad servers need to be regulated to prevent malware distribution and to crack down on scammers.
