One thing I've really gotten to like about anime music is that rock/punk seems to still be pretty popular in Japan, whereas it's been virtually entirely replaced by rap/autotuned club music here in the US. I can't understand a lick of the lyrics, but a ton of anime has really catchy and upbeat punk, and as a 90s teen, it brings back fond memories. I'm a (marginal to average) drummer and a lot of the songs aren't too hard to play and a ton of fun.
I'll start by saying Tu Love Ru's season one opener "Forever we can make it" by THYME (also the animation that goes with it in the show is👍)
Just taking a look at my playlist in the few minutes I got...
Come by Amuro Namie, one of the Inuyasha ED's. Possibly her only good song, it's kind of a trance track, so it always stood out.
rise, the OP for GitS SAC 2nd Gig has to go on there too.
Both openings for Spice and Wolf have been on my playlists since forever.
You check out the new Spice and Wolf? Both of those OPs are pretty dope as well.
Not yet. I was a bit annoyed that it was just a remake. I figured I'd check it out if it doesn't do the usual anime thing and tell me to go fuck myself and read the LNs.
It's an improvement in several ways. They're committed to doing the whole LN series as far as I know, and they included some stuff that was left out of the last one. And since the LN series is done, they had liberty to foreshadow certain things now that we know how it ends. It's definitely worth a watch even if you already watched the previous version.
