It's pretty remarkable, thank fuck the lockdowns stopped and the bulk of the normies gave up on gaming as a hobby so the prices aren't being jacked up anymore. It's not just hard drives I've seen becoming very cheap but monitors as well which is making me keep an eye on the market, already got a hilarious clearance deal on an ugly gaming mouse that nobody wanted as a replacement for my current one. Very surprised at how even 2k monitors are becoming quite reasonable in price with a high refresh rate as well and those used to be fucking expensive back in the day if anyone remembers.

Personally I stay away from NVME drives, they still get too hot and won't last the test of time, for gaming purposes SATA speeds are way more than enough.
It's just nice being able to browse through tech sites and not cringe at the pricing anymore, even if I can't afford a full high end rig I could potentially get a second PC to do rendering on while I game on my other PC, there are options now.
