I have to admit I was very surprised that they even openly admitted to 3 and following through with removing it. I take this as a very rare outright win because normally they would try to weasel out of it somehow, the boycott must have been pretty effective. Even without all of the political shit, I hate it when companies shove campaigns in your faces as a customer. It's one thing if it's something small and tucked away for you to take an interest in if you 'really' care but when they have 'charity organisers' and shit like that showing up I do not like it at all. I can imagine as well for people more vulnerable etc. it makes them feel very uncomfortable.
We've got quite a bit of a problem with that sometimes in supermarkets here in the UK but even the most blatant examples seem to have largely knocked it off probably just because of how unpopular it is. 4 is a big deal as well, they very rarely openly admit to DEI even existing but it must be because enough people cited it they got rid of it.
I hope this happens in more companies. Specially, I hope that someone runs the numbers and dispassionately shows brass that people hate this, and by promoting it, the company is insulting its core demographic and is setting itself up for financial ruin.
