Most "social media" (formulated brainrot) is a pale imitation of academics, industry professionals, and nerd side of pre-2008 internet. The OLPC project indeed showed that the noble-savage is largely a myth. I still think a walled-garden is suitable for a rural tribe that has to have electricity and telecommunications subsidized. Really, I have higher expectations for newcomers than formulated brainrot.
