Yeah, you've been going through the same thing as a lot of people so I understand the cynicism completely. It's just I see a lot of it happening on the right as well where most people are completely full of shit and just venting their fantasy larp online rather than plotting anything real.
If they did, then they'd come to the same conclusions as me that most of these ideological groups are in fact standing in the way, either as controlled opposition or a bunch of grifting psychopaths who turn out to not even believe in the shit they claim to believe in which is why I find it funny when they crap on centrists for doing the exact same thing.
My main argument is, yes the left are definitely an issue, but at least they're honest about their intentions and have been going really mask of lately. However that doesn't mean we should automatically run into the arms of the right especially when there are plenty of fakers who I wanted to believe were real. If anything I tend to bitch about the right not being right wing enough by any stretch because they always go back on the things they say if they ever win. They can't even make viable arguments against mass migration anymore, it's mainly just been ordinary people who have been doing that so they feel pressured.
When it comes to gaming as well, I don't ever expect them to do a purity virtue signal or anything and know everything about video games, that would be a dick move on my part. However what really sets me off about the right is they can't even bring themselves to say "These are just guys enjoying their hobby, leave them alone and stop spying on them using glowie ops" and it pisses me off.
It's always the fucking anti-gamer Matt Walsh types and they're using gaming as a political issue and are faking being GamerGate supporters big time. That's something that I do admittedly get a bit spergy about because gaming is something I care about generally. The balls on people like Matt Walsh to pretend he cares about gaming and then get uppity just like all the others when he gets called out on his months of anti-gamer rantings.
Well, we definitely agree completely about the utter fake and gay nature of 95% of online political discourse, both left and right. It was a large part of what sent me back to church, which in turn became one of the more important decisions I've made IRL lately.
When it comes to games and gaming, I definitely understand the point the Matt Walshes of the world make, even the ones on ConsumeProduct or /pol/. On some level, interacting with the real world in a serious matter is the most important thing we can all do, yadda yadda. I get that and largely agree.
I also come from a heavily gaming-centric and college-literary-academic focused past and understand better than most that the real battle we face is a metaphysical one where the weapons of war are narrative and ideology. "The Right," autistic boomer faggots we are, has been resoundingly losing this battle since the 60s and hasn't cared to take it up. It is actually important to create and consume good art and it is actually important to gatekeep it against the forces of evil, because if you don't, Billy is going to chop his dick off because fucking Blues Clues told him to.
Matt Walsh is a dumb shill, but his retarded viewpoint on art is held by an incredible number of people. That needs to change before any semblance of order can return.
In the meantime, I plan gardens and play EverQuest.
