I was watching the Dennis the Menace show from the early 60s on Prime and noticed that it was rated PG13. I was curious as to how this could possible be rated PG13 and it said alcohol use, language, and smoking. That isn’t as crazy as a modern day/gen z warning I saw for Leave it to Beaver that mentioned that “it had outdated norms and it shows all white people”. In the 50s, white people made up over 90 percent of the country so the Cleaver family “reflected the world around them”. Heck, even today a traditional white nuclear family is a much better reflection of an American family than what Hollywood reflects which is some lgbt heavy neighborhood in California or NY.

Where I live a number of classic tv show channels (mainly shows from 50s to early 00s) are popping up like crazy. Most of what I watch is early 00s or prior. They have to realize why so many people would rather watch older stuff
I honestly thought I was having nostalgia for the old stuff. Just like I always hear from older people when I was a kid that [insert whatever] was so much better before my days.
Turns out that's not even the case. Because my dad would watch the shows I watched as a kid. Cartoons mostly. I'm enjoying the older games, movies, and shows because companies today and their woke employees can't comprehend what made media great back then. We didn't care about skin color until they started bragging about diversity. Now we worry that they made the main character black strictly because of skin color.
All of this woke shit and the destruction of our media has made me crave older material. I think I've spent more on older gen games this year than newer games this year and all last year combined.
I enjoyed my generation’s shows as well as the older stuff. Some things I gained more of an appreciation for as I’ve gotten older like Little House on the Prairie. My general rule of thumb is to watch stuff from 2014 and prior. Like you said thanks to all the talk of diversity when I see a black or female lead I’m thinking it’s gonna beat me over the head with THE MESSAGE. Stuff from years past I’ll give a chance to regardless. Dont get me started on the massive over representation of lgbt
