Did some digging, the author behind Jujitsu Kaisen (which is a sequel to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School) took inspiration from Neon Genesis Evangelion for the mythological references and found footage videos for the horror aspect.
Chainsaw man author took inspiration from lots of different sources and openly admits one of them was Jujitsu Kaisen. They're different universes regardless, this happens a lot especially in genres that share the same theme (curses, horror, suffering etc)
