I've asked one before on Reddit and they focused on the homeless saying something like "Well I don't think the homeless would appreciate me reading the hungry caterpillar to them"

So when I asked why did it have to be a children's book or why not just sit and talk to them to give them attention I got a block

Cemented my belief that they do in fact only thing of the kids
