Permabanned from a longtime account on my primary subreddit, and given an administrative sitewide temp ban for a few days for something that is stupid.
If you've heard of the Matt Araiza situation, you'll probably have an idea of how this happened. I was asking if we had known anything more about the girl who had lied about the whole thing or if she was getting off scot free. Permabanned for doxing (or attempted doxing, something stupid). This was buried deep on a thread about it, with a couple upvotes, and I got permabanned for it. When I asked why they were protecting the identity of a liar willing to ruin someone's life, boom this morning hit with a temp ban across the entire site. Oh well. My account was definitely not targeted for any other reason because I avoid politics entirely on that stupid site, so here I am.
(All the girls information, her face and name are online and published by papers that can be hit with libel, as I would later learn)
When an account gets banned, just make another one and start all over again. You should have made it a habit by now to park your account after a certain number of points. I broke my own rule when my last account became a success, but when it became targeted by the admins (lol) for spurious reasons, I just parked it, made a new account and continued where I left off.
It's just internet points. No one cares. Your name recognition will take a nosedive, but they're strangers, anyway. There are so many names, who can really keep them apart?
If someone recognizes my name then they have a serious addiction. I've never posted anything other than a few comments here or there.
Reddit was petty 'village mentality' social control from the very beginning. The filter bubble system actively seeks to push out errant thoughts and users. It was supposed to be against spam, but in reality it was just downvoting the people you disagreed with.
Make a new account and get over being banned by 'admins'. All those 'admins' have long since been turned into jaded, cynical self-flagellating internet freaks. They lord over millions of users. A single user means absolutely nothing to them and you should return the favor.
