It was trash. Had a good smattering of “mah representation”, boring announcements, back handed comments to some winners, and a shit ton of ads. Probably more ads than award ceremony. Same 6 games were on the majority of the categories and all but two games should have just been removed: Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2. Thankfully, they gave Armored Core 6 best action game. Big announcement was a new Monster Hunter but it’s won’t be out until 2025. Only really watched for the trash talking from StutteringCraig and Yellowflash.

The fact that BG3 won game of the year ircs me. I realize it is a decent game but I see so many people praise that crap story and ignore all the woke stuff, even in kia and kia2
Hilarious that it won. It's so typical of Lyrain to make its "good stuff" front loaded in act 1 but then make its later half just combat linear moment after moment. Then also Act 3 of Baulders Gate 3 a buggy and poorly optimized mess. I seem to recall another RPG that was buggy at launch and got flogged.
The first act was good, not going to lie. It was not perfect, still had a few plot holes and I could not have a proper resolution on the refugee stuff but it is what it is, it was enjoyable.
Act 3 is retarder, the story itself breaks apart so fast, I admit that close to the end I just uninstalled it so maybe there are some revelations at the end that I missed. The entire line with the prince of the comet turning in to a mindflayer was so so stupid. Just released from prison, uber powerfull and he was like our only solution is me turning in to a mind flayer?!?? what kind of stupid shit was that? After that scene I just uninstalled the game.
Also the plan from the retarded 3 was use this crown that has the power of a god by giving it to one of the most intelligent beings in the world so it can attack the city and we get to rescue it !?!! Who thought that was a good idea?
In BG1 it made sense since there was no crown and the point of the plot was so that it can go to war with Amn and create enough murder to become the next lord of murder. In BG3 it was just memberberries and force in the most idiotic way possible the story from BG1.
And when did the lore change on mindflayers? Ceremorphosis was not an X-men type mutation is was an entire different being that just absorbed the memories and turned in to a monster, more like the Goa'uld from star gate, it was not a slave of an elder brain either. Did they change that in 5'th just to accommodate the stupid story?
Please tell me I'm wrong :( I just refuse to believe that something that was so poorly written won game of the year.
One more point, did it explain why the gay devil dude had the crown and did nothing with it and traded it to the retarded one of Bane? That made 0 sense.
The main problem is that D&D is overrun with turbofaggots.
