Why do they need to put this stuff in?
On its face is nothing much but autistic is a modern day diagnostic and it seems so forced to include it in a medieval setting.
And if you read the description of the character, this people have no idea what being autistic means.
At this point do we even consider forgotten realms a medieval setting?
Autistic people are very well adapted to hunting. Being in nature is literally healing to them. The autistic attention to detail makes hunting more successful. Deer don't care about your social skills and your tribe will love you anyway if you can feed them.
I dunno dude...maybe the light/functional autists who can still communicate with people about what they want and learn the skills, nobody in preindustrial era had time to deal with the severe autists who won't even respond to normal conversations, at best they'll be given minimum sustenance and left alone as the village idiots. nobody's going to wave various tools around just to see if there's something that interested them, you take on the jobs your father/family was already doing, chances are it's not going to be something the autists wanted to do
