I think they're about to let non-citizens be police too. A scenario where a van full of Somali cops show up and arrest you for not renting to an MS-13 guy, none of whom have any documentation about who they are or where they're from, is entirely possible by this time next year.

I'm sure incentivizing people to come be cops over people whom they have zero obligation to serve has NEVER gone wrong before.
