Nasrat Ahmad Yar, a 31-year-old married father of four who escaped Afghanistan with his life was reportedly murdered by a group of teenagers in Washington, DC on Monday morning while working a few hours with Lyft to earn extra money for rent.

He served as an interpreter alongside U.S. Army Special Forces in Afghanistan. Ahmad Yar escaped with his family in 2021 after the fall of the Afghan government to the Taliban.

He earned his place in US more then most and yet he was rewarded with death.
