But what boggles my mind is that I’m seeing so many young blacks people who constantly talk about how oppressed they are or how racist everything is. What makes no sense is that they talk about race way more than people of generations past. Or when you hear them talk about slavery you would think they were slaves. I think it has to be some brainwashing along with young ppl of all races being taught to find offense in everything
I was born in 80 and my parents were big about looking at the individual so I never had any issues with other races (my mom went to segregated schools til high school and said she didn’t want her kids to be obsessed with race). Ironically the most racial flack I ever received was other black ppl saying I “act white and talk white”. So I’d still say I’m colorblind in the sense that I would never judge an individual based on their skin color or form an opinion like that. Unfortunately you have dumb black people or the whole crime issue definitely gives a bad perception overall but I can only do what I can do.
My mother worked in HR til she retired in 17 and she told me what opened her eyes was seeing plenty of white people getting cheated out if opportunities they deserved. Basically teaching her that bad things happen to everyone across the board.
