What's killing people in Alaska? Just hard labor / cold? Bering Sea fishing accidents?
Alaska is a hostile environment and lots of people kill each other. It's pretty much the hardcore pvp server of America. Population also skews male.
Also bear in mind that those big areas with dark colors in Alaska have almost no population. It's really remote and unpopulated. Mostly natives & they have lots of issues with violence & alcoholism.
Good point about the low pop. Any death is going to count as more %.
It's not just low pop, if you're old you get out of that area. I'm not sure you southerners can conceptualize how remote that area is.
Probably not. Most rural place I've lived is Nebraska, and it was in a small town, not wilderness.
