If you need to coat your food in 15 different spices and herbs, out of which most get burnt anyways and give the food that disgusting charred taste, then either your food quality is terrible and/or your taste buds are fucked.

She has a point about the seasoning BUT her approach is one of privilege. She can afford fresh seasoning while the powders give folks more bang for their buck and last longer.

Onions are so cheap that i cannot buy them per onion but by 500 gram or kilo. So the onions spoil because as a single person I am not eating a kilo of onions in the time before it spoils.
I put my onions in a colder and dry old cupboard during the colder parts of the year and they stay good for months, same with garlic, shouldn't take you long to go through them if you cook often.
