The tech demo that was shown before it was renamed/twisted to forspoken was actually quite interesting. Too bad that they had to make it for "western audiences" instead of actually giving us something good for a change
The game was made on the Luminous engine, the same engine that FFXV was built on and the reception towards that game was lukewarm. Luminous Productions re-using Project Athia assets for Forspoken was a last ditch sunken cost fallacy attempt to recoup the investment into the engine.
Apparently, they thought woke-ifying the game would help it sell and we know the rest of the story.
