What I've been spotting with almost all of the articles I've found today is the word Hubris.

Tech

An investor points out that a university degree will cost $1 million, while a TV that covers your wall will be $100. The university, medical, and housing are heavily regulated and controlled by the government and new tech is basically forbidden. I've worked in two of those and saw the insanity and agree. Our big costs problem won't be solved by universal medical care, but by allowing the innovations to destroy the original markets over and over again. It won't be pretty, but we will be a lot healthier and smarter because of it.

The latest Stinger report shows how VR is falling by the wayside. Companies are moving toward AR, but have no idea how it became profitable, including Niantic. ESports are not making their return on investment and several companies are falling.

Theme Parks

With Super Mario World, the industry has shown that new designs will be about immersing people in a single IP, with side games and other methods along with rides for guests to enjoy. This is opposed to the looser themes and setting that would blend into the next place fairly easily. Not really hubris, but a major design change.
