For context, Pikamee is a fairly big VTuber - part of the 2020 VTuber boom - with 640k subs on Youtube, more than the rest of her group (VOMS Project) combined. She has a well-earned reputation as one of the nicest and least controversial VTubers around (if not THE nicest), literally the only thing I can think of in the last three years she's said that attracted negative attention was her saying she preferred Youtube over Twitch, and she also enjoyed good relationships with all of the major VTuber corpo groups/studios (IIRC she was in one of Hololive's first outsider collabs for example, and they're the biggest in the industry).

Unfortunately Pikamee is also shy & very conflict-averse, having divulged that she was bullied in school for being half-American (on her dad's side) and explicitly preferring to stream to Western audiences than Japanese ones because she thought they'd be more accepting of her. Being Japanese and absolutely not the kind of person to touch politics with a 10 ft pole, she also wasn't tuned in to the tranny infestation of the Internet. This combination of traits has made her an attractive target for them to bully out of playing Hogwarts Legacy and, clearly, off the Internet altogether - sensitive and conflict-averse foreigner, meet the biggest gaggle of sadistic cowardly bullies on the Internet who get off on your tears and will boast of having 'taught you a lesson' like a domestic abuser who's managed to batter and gaslight (in the legitimate, original sense of the word) his girlfriend into submission just one more time.

This is a tragedy for the VTubing scene, and a very ironic one too considering that Pikamee's English language skill made her a big bridge for VTubing's breakthrough in the West. The only silver lining is that while the Twitter troon brigade could not have picked a better target to bully to tears & off the Internet, they also couldn't have picked a target guaranteed to generate more backlash owing to how universally liked and non-controversial Pikamee is across pretty much all the VTuber communities.

Phase-Connect's Tenma Maemi has pretty much called for troons to be hanged already (had to walk it back a bit under management's pressure of course, but Phase-Connect in general is host to the only explicitly right-wing VTubers around, Pipkin Pippa of 'discussing Buck Breaking, the negatives of premarital sex & how the FBI recruits domestic terrorists live on air' infamy being probably the biggest name in this regard). 4chan's /vt/ going nuclear was to be expected, what wasn't expected was that this is also blowing up & trending on Twitter and (as can be seen from the responses to Tenma's Tweet above or on the Kiwifarms VTuber thread) 99.9% of the comments are either calling for Total Troon Death or telling the clowns/bad faith actors saying 'not all trannies/hey let's not bully the bullies' that in fact, yes all trannies and the 41% should become 100% ASAP.
