For once, there's an element of truth in that statement - we all know men are more likely to be in accidents, especially young, new drivers who are showing off and peacocking.
...But past age 30? From that point, men are getting into more accidents because men are more likely to be driving under duress - that is, driving with a deadline for when they need to be somewhere. Women generally don't find themselves in that situation, because women generally don't do jobs that matter on a minute-to-minute basis.
