I think it is pretty clear when you look at the way FF14 has turned out, since it is the same team - but I think it is definitely a more westernized take of the franchise in a lot of ways. And I think another big part of it is just that Yoshi P likes that type of stuff and was into a lot of western RPGs and MMOs as well throughout his life, picked up from interviews and stuff over the years.
All that being said, the trailers show a lot of classic Final Fantasy stuff that doesn't take away from the FF identity, imo at least - the summons in particular I think look potentially the best they ever have, although we will have to see once it is actually out.
I sound like I'm shilling and I apologize for that as I'm really not, I'm just trying to be open minded about the game, cause like I mentioned it is at least a bit less pozzed than other big franchises/titles we see these days. It may just be some generic half assed action RPG with some FF plated coating, just hoping that isn't the case.
