"The Metaverse" is just the next step for western entertainment conglomerates that are deathly allergic to risk. Right now they're doing endless reboots of reboots, each one more soulless than the one before - the most hyped-up movie in 2021 was a movie adaptation of a 1960s sci-fi book series that already had a film and a short series adaptation - but they still shit out something new once in a while. The Metaverse is the next level. It's not yet another VR Chat or Second Life, we've had those for a while, you might eventually get Facebook VR Chat too but that's not what it really is, it's just a part of it. The Metaverse is a way to tie together various existing IPs and rehash them forever in an infinite number of combinations so that nobody ever has to create anything new ever again while soy elementals clap like seals and consoom this committee-designed, mass-manufactured bullshit until they die of a soy-induced heart attack and get devoured by their furbabies. It's a way to create """new""" content by putting Teletubbies and Bubba Wallace in a blender together with a brand of menstrual cups and then force-feeding the resulting tasteless slurry to bug people. It's Soylent for your mind.
