Wow I've never heard of them before but the archive that u/altmehere provided has the following quote at the bottom:
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our office stands, The Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
preceded by the aboriginal flag.
That should give you a hint of what the politics of that business is.
This is done by nearly ever single company in Australia now.
Funny part I find is that there was like 900+ tribes always fighting and disputing land ownership (though they claim they never owned land :P ) and even today with people doing these "acknowledgements" "offends" some groups as they believe that the land was actually theirs ha ha ha ha
All it takes is for someone to start asking for the paper trail.
"You owned this land, Woojidy Boojidy people? Where's the title deed? You gonna pay some tax on that?"
The aboriginals were nomadic; they had no concept of land ownership, settlement development, agriculture or farming.
Much like the climate change debate, there is only one side allowed to speak and everything they say is considered fact. Australia's fucked.
I disagree with the "they had no concept of land ownership", it wasn't as we know it but if someone (even to this day) who is Aboriginal went into lands that weren't theirs without permission they could receive a spearing for the offence.
