I don't read their drivel but there has been talk about countries adopting the Chinese Yuan as the basis for their economies for well over a decade.
It seems the market crash of 2008 sparked an interest in securing stability and China was considered then.
I don't know if it is a good idea or not but it is in the realm of possibility.
