Critical Race Theory goes all the way back to the 60s, immediately after the Civil Rights Act was passed. They've been infiltrating schools, media, law, and bureaucracies ever since.
We're just at the point that we've reached critical mass, where there isn't a generation alive that didn't go through the indoctrination camps of public school.
Critical theory goes back further, critical race theory is just a natural offshoot of it. It goes back to the frankfurt school and Horkheimer who first coined it in 1937, though it existed with other names and as a process prior to being given its name,
