You need to allow JS from reveddit.com and allow XHR to reddit.com and pushshift.io. Blockers other than uMatrix might show them differently. I also find that the extra blocking in Firefox's private mode blocks these last two so I need to toggle that off.
Some are necessary for the new 'fancy' pages to work. But a lot are ad-ware and trackers to grab your info. Use something like uMatrix or uBlock Origin to disable the bad stuff.
You have to enable all the page elements. Keep checking your script blocker, because new elements appear after enabling previous elements.
