Assault and battery, eh? I want to know the context, kid, and not just you saying "but I dindoo nuffin, and they slapped me wid dis." Was the teacher a witness? Why didn't your friends stick up for you if it was an accident?
Also here. I find there's two types of latch kid tho.
There's the ones that learn independence but face repercussions if that independence is abused (Home by 7. I could probably push 8. Later would have consequences).
Then there's the "latch key kids" which were really just unmonitored kids. Told to get out of the house, parents can't be bothered dealing with them, they're out until they're bored, then until they're so bored they become a nuisance or violent. They have independence too, but it's not controlled.
