New gamplay vid now that I understand the game better and have beaten the first "confession" once.
You can see from that vid that while my team is strong I still made a poor decision about which route to take from the first inn so I failed at my challenge and missed out on two mastery.
Also even though I tried to manage stress as best as I could my toons still had 2 meltdowns so I'm going into the next zone with two bad relationships which doesn't bode well.
Overall the game is still fun but now that I unlocked all of the characters the only meaningful progression I have left is the shrine events that unlock skills and story for each hero. I'll probably stop playing if I beat this run (not likely) and wait for more updates.
I don't regret the purchase but the $30 list price for early access seems a bit steep. I got it for $17 because of first day sale and a coupon which feels right for the current state of the game.
I heard the same complaints from a few streamers. The game has very little "progression" for a rogue-like game. In the sense that there isn't much to unlock from repeated playthroughs.
Personally? I will wait until it shows up on steam in a year or so lol. The patient gamer always wins in the end.
Yeah agreed. I liked the first one a lot for the immersive atmosphere and less for the gameplay. But this one seems to have fixed the parts I didnt like.
