There's a shill on Reddit who tried to convince me that Generals "call their counterparts all the time" and it is a form of de-escalation.

Who knew that Generals would just call each other up to chat about the weather...treason...their favorite cereal...

Anything military related on Reddit always brings out the LARPers who watched a few episodes of Band of Brothers and think they understand how the armed forces operates.
