Who is asking for live action versions of anime. This isnt exclusive to americans either, Mob Psycho got turned into a soulless blob and FMA combined crappy CGI and japwashing magic Germany. At least there they tried with blonde wigs.

For what it's worth, ADV tried for years to make faithful, live action versions of Cowboy Bebop, Akira and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Which was really a way to get around the fact they lost out on the rights to Bebop and Akira, and to hang on long term to Eva.
