The whole thing of "...who end up trading sex for a place to stay" completely invalidates the premise that the person who is telling the kid "hey, I can help you get away from your parents that hate you because you think you're trans" is only doing it out of the goodness of their heart. If someone really cared about helping out LGBT youths, they wouldn't immediately land on the notion of "okay, you can stay here rent-free, but you owe me a blowie at least once a day" as compensation for the assistance.
