After my internship ended at The Oregonian last year, I didn't get a single interview until I stopped including my pronouns on my resume and cover letter. I think about that a lot when I see discussions about diversity in journalism and who gets a fair shake in this industry.
Written by either a dude with long hair and a mental disorder or a chick with a bad case of man-face.
If even the journalism industry doesn't like pronouns in the workplace, we might just have a chance.
