It was bait. And everyone took the bait. They now work the same way IRL as they have been working online for years. Same tactics.
“You think guns will help?! The government has NUKES!!! Hahah!!!” This is a meme argument that people have pushed online, constantly. It doesn’t matter that it’s not really logical, it’s emotional and makes them look strong vs the weak enemy.
not to mention it opens up lines like "so you would rather rule the ruins then accept a threat to your rule?" or simpler and less wordy "wow, biden thinks life is cheap"
Nuking the enemy is generally a bad idea unless there are zero allies in the area and the enemy is too well dug in.
I do expect them to carpet bomb any area we control, likely sending advance agents to warn remaining allies that they are about to carpet bomb an area so that they can evacuate, that doesn't mean they are not willing to write off any of our pow's before bombing an area though...
