At least the PS2 is so ubiquitous and ran for so long you can find cheap ones hiding in random corners to replace it.

It truly was a mighty time for them, and they never reached such heights again. And that was with their fiercest competition.

Mine started eating cds at some point. Thankfully it was easy enough to DIY a fix. That's as far as I know its only real hardware oversight. My greatest accomplishment as a teen back in the day.
