Wrote a piece that touches on Brandon Mitchell, the Chauvin juror who's an activist with a big mouth - and why we need to not forget him, because he overplayed his hand. Ties into the culture war and what's going on, figured y'all might enjoy it.

Man, fuck that kid. He should hang, like the rest of them. The time is coming boys.
Honestly we need to get back to the point where you accuse someone of something and it is totally proven they lied about it knowingly that they get the same punishment.
Not quite the same here [not him "accusing"] but basically just about the same type of thing.
Incorrect. He should not hang.
Correct. He should be put on trial and found guilty, because if we follow the actual law he is guilty. The death penalty as far as I'm aware is not an option for the criminal act(s?) he committed.
Honestly I say given the acts he did attempted to basically put a man in jail for x amount of time.... he should get that same amount of time as the max Chauvin would have gotten. I see it like the old style accuse a guy of a crime, it gets proven you totally did it wrongfully for some random reason, and you get the same punishment.
I might agree with that. I haven't spent a bunch of time thinking about it, but I understand the logic and find it pretty fair overall but would need some limitations - I imagine if you try to convict an innocent man and the death penalty is the charge, I'm not sure I'd be down for giving the liar the death penalty.
On the other hand, you'd pretty much solve these kinds of problems pretty instantly if that was the case lol.
Just makes me think "Y'know, we could probably just do a better job educating people as children and inculcating decent morality along with a bit of a spine and most of this stuff goes away."
Oh obviously I am exaggerating a bit :P I am not saying we should totally enact that exactly but.... I think for false accusers we should definitely get closer to it.
