Is it a coincidence this week I complained to @OPP_ER of them entering businesses and threatening 100k fines to store owners who are exempt from wearing masks. Tonight my son gets tasered in the back for defending an exempt mask wearer. @fordnation is a police state #onpoli
Not just we , my son @dillonhillier has fought overseas with the CAF to liberate those who were oppressed, now finds himself behind bars for “speaking” up for exempt people at home. Shameful @fordnation and @OPP_ER #onpoli
As much as I hate it, if you don't want to fight about your exemption everywhere you go, just wear a mask under your chin. People freak more about you not having one than whether you're actually wearing it.
I have written a number of letters regarding my ongoing concerns with OPP enforcement of unconstitutional COVID policies. See my latest letter to OPP commissioner Thomas Carrique regarding these matters.
This should be one of the biggest stories in Canada. If the men involved were black, they would be.
I dislike this sentiment. The majority voted for this, but the minority didn't, and most of the time, it's the imposed-upon minority that are getting the shaft of these policies, from the imposing majority.
Funny enough, Trudeau didn't get a majority or even the most votes in Canada's last election - the Conservatives actually came in first place popular-vote-wise, nabbing something like 200k more votes.
But try telling that to anyone who supposedly wants a switch away from the Electoral College/FPTP, in America or Canada, and most likely they'll just have a brain BSOD before changing the subject. Getting an actual answer out of them is even harder.
I felt he was quite clear he meant ending first past the post and that's it. Which if course he cancelled because the panel was suggesting a new system other than the one he wanted.
He said it wasn't needed because evil Harper wasn't in control anymore. Yes, really:
Under Mr. Harper, there were so many people who were unhappy with the government and his approach that people said, ‘We need electoral reform in order to stop having governments we don’t like'. However, under the current system, they now have a government with which they are more satisfied. And the thirst to change the electoral system is less striking.
Democracy is simply the tyranny of the majority. That's why a republic makes more sense, because a majority (or in this case, a plurality) of voters can choose tyrannical policies with the defense that "the people want it", then beating the minority over the head with said policies.

Canadians getting what they voted for. No sympathy here.

Not even a majority.
A plurality of voters is all
True facts.

That's something I was hoping Trudeau would fix. Instead he gave up because "it's complicated". Thanks Trudeau.
LOL why would Trudeau give up the Liberal Party's key to getting elected? He never even pretended to campaign on that.
He talked about election reform. Without specifics, because he's a duplicitous snake.

Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario, ran on the slogans "for the people" and "open for business". They're literally not getting what they voted for.
