Its very very accurate. When arguing with the NPCs, they sprout the same attacks or the same victimhood narratives even when it doesn't make sense. For example when i as a female argue with them, they still try to use the same talking points and arguments that only make any "sense" as if they were arguing with a guy but dont make any sense with me. And when i saw the recent The quarterings video about people attacking the star wars girl for her criticism of she ra's art i noticed a similar thing happening to her too, Its like they are programmed to react or talk in a certain manner without ever thinking about whether it makes any sense.

This is in large part due to the education system. It encourages people to defer to authority and experts and treats their opinion as gospel. No actual problem solving or critical thinking, just memorizing the correct answer and doing call and response.
I agree that our educational system is making things worse but it cannot fundamentally solve the NPC problem. A large percentage of the population are followers who simply lack the ability to think critically. The solution is to guide them into non self destructive paths using the educational system and social conformity. Trying to force them out of NPC-hood is as realistic as achieving equity among all groups.
Humans are a social herdlike creature by nature, this cannot be changed in any meaningful way. At least 50% of the population is going to go along with the rest of the group no matter what, as long as they are relatively safe and comfortable.
The only way to deal with this is to make sure the people at the top are competent, have good intentions for the whole group, and will not exploit this tendency for their own personal gain.
Our society is based on the self serving individual who is supposed to do things for their own sake at the expense of everybody else. This does not work well long term.
Agreed. When those on top are sociopaths it's no wonder society breaks down.
It is also the flaw in democracy. Like you said, when you have 50% of the population simply following the herd what value is there in their input to the system of governance?
Voting itself is a skill that needs critical reasoning and good information. That huge amount of the population does not care, they just want to be told which is the good guy and which is the bad guy.
This is why historically who could vote was restricted to property owners. They had more at stake than somebody who could move away immediately, so it encouraged them to be at least a bit more invested to find out the facts of the matter.
