As New Evidence Emerges For COVID "Lab-Leak" Theory, Journalists Who Screamed “Conspiracy” Humiliate Themselves
Michael Tracey 3 hr ago
I asked numerous journalists who authored these stories for comment on whether they stand by their over-assured denunciations from early 2020 of this supposed “conspiracy theory,” which according to them had been “debunked.” None replied to me in time for the publication of this Substack item. (If that changes, I will update the post.) However, the author of the Washington Post article, Paulina Firozi, did reply in the sense that she disabled her ability to receive DMs shortly after I messaged her on Twitter:
This is all the more ironic in the case of the Washington Post, whose editorial board on April 30 called for a new investigation into the origin of the virus, including into “the possibility of a laboratory leak.” Which is the exact same “possibility” Cotton was decried by the Washington Post as a debunked conspiracy theorist for raising last year. Columnist Josh Rogin also just published an article May 6 lauding congressional investigations into the lab-leak theory.
The New York Times pulled a similar routine by parroting the “conspiracy theory” label, as though that’s the be-all-end-all and no further inquiry on the subject was required:
Unfortunately, I’ve received no reply from Alexandra Stevenson.
The Daily Beast was as pathetic as usual, with Executive Editor Tracy Connor lambasting Cotton for having “amplified a debunked conspiracy theory about the origin of the coronavirus outbreak.”
Tracy Connor sadly has not replied to my email.
The cratering and staff-shedding HuffPost had been hot on Cotton’s trail for some time vis-a-vis the COVID “panic” they claimed he was shamefully stoking. Here’s an incredible-in-hindsight article from January 2020 lashing into Cotton:
Unchastened by this humiliation, HuffPost persisted in mocking Cotton:
It’s truly amazing that HuffPost writer Mary Papenfuss possessed the copious scientific knowledge required to dismiss the lab-leak theory as a “debunked conspiracy” in February 2020. Perhaps she ought to consider a career change and become an epidemiological fortune-teller of some sort. I’m devastated to report that she also has not responded to my query.
It goes on and on. Here’s the Guardian’s masterful summary in April:
“Virus conspiracy.” Just stated as fact over and over again. In keeping with the pattern, I’ve gotten no response from Martin Pengelly.
Here’s the Kaiser Family Foundation’s news page — which you might have wrongly suspected would have higher standards on this subject area — dutifully repeating the “conspiracy” mantra:
Notably, these media reports are all indistinguishable from the take proffered by Democratic Party propaganda organ Media Matters:
Media Matters @mmfa
Fox anchor Maria Bartiromo and Sen. Tom Cotton keep pushing coronavirus conspiracy theory about coronavirus and a bioweapons laboratory Cotton cited a study by the Lancet. Lancet a month ago denounced the misuse of its study to push the conspiracy theory Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo and Sen. Tom Cotton keep pushing coronavirus conspiracy theory mediamatters. org
March 30th 2020
A number of factors likely contributed to these journalists proclaiming hard-and-fast certainty about this issue, despite having no grounds for such certainty. Many likely thought they were heroically combating anti-Asian xenophobia by dismissing a theory that could’ve assigned some measure of culpability to Chinese state authorities for the origination and spread of the virus, although it’s unclear why this should have implicated individual Chinese-Americans. Either way, lying or misrepresenting stuff in the name of combating xenophobia can’t be justified journalistically, and is liable to backfire anyway.

D.C. jail treatment of Capitol riot defendants draws bipartisan outrage
"It was a well-thought-out strategic plan" to transfer inmates to D.C., where they can be "mic'd in a cage," lawyer says.
By Greg Piper Updated: May 10, 2021 - 8:37am
A short drive from the U.S. Capitol, 1,500 inmates are stuck in their jail cells 22 hours a day. Until last month it was 23, and they were also barred from going outside.
A smaller group of inmates may have it even worse: those awaiting trial for alleged crimes in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. They've been placed in "restrictive housing," a maximum-security designation.
The plight of nearby inmates has received surprisingly little attention on Capitol Hill for the better part of a year, since the District of Columbia Department of Corrections issued its "medical stay-in-place" policies for COVID-19 mitigation.
That only changed in late April, and it flipped the partisan script. Rep. James Comer, ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee, demanded better treatment for the inmate population at large, while Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Dick Durbin spoke up for inmates accused of insurrection to keep Donald Trump in office.
The issue could complicate D.C.'s bid for statehood. "D.C.'s house is not in order, and the solution is not to grant it even more authority through statehood," Comer said April 19 in response to a Washington Post report that characterized the jail's COVID-19 order as "mass solitary confinement."
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) also cited the Post report in an April 22 floor speech against D.C. statehood. Alleging the city has been "essentially torturing inmates" for more than a year, Higgins said: "That is ultimately a violation of the 8th Amendment ... Is this what we can expect from a D.C. state?"
Comer requested but has not received a briefing with Mayor Muriel Bowser about jail conditions, prompting him to demand Oversight Chair Carolyn Maloney hold an emergency hearing on "these gross abuses that are happening right at our doorstep."
The Jan. 6 defendants are being held in pretrial detention on charges ranging from knowingly entering or remaining in restricted grounds without authority to conspiracy, assault and obstruction of an official proceeding.
Asked about Jan. 6 defendants specifically, Comer's office provided Just the News a statement Friday night. "Reports that January 6 defendants, who have been charged but not yet convicted of a crime, [are] receiving even harsher treatment is equally appalling," he said.
Both Bowser and Maloney "have refused the requests asked of them," according to Comer. A spokesperson for Maloney connected Just the News with an Oversight staffer, who has not responded, while Bowser's spokesperson has not responded.
A Department of Corrections spokesperson did not answer email questions and declined to speak on the record in a phone interview.
A lawyer for Jan. 6 defendants told Politico that lawmakers should contact him if they were concerned about the inmates' treatment. Marty Tankleff, himself exonerated after decades in prison for a wrongful murder conviction, told Just the News no one has contacted him nearly three weeks later.
His clients include Ryan Samsel, who alleges a prison guard beat him so badly he suffered permanent eye damage, and Edward Jacob Lang, an observant Jew who claims guards disparaged him as a "false prophet" as he prayed for other inmates.
Singled out to 'punish' or 'break them so that they will cooperate'
In a March order denying a defendant's removal from restrictive housing, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth said the D.C. attorney general had placed all Jan. 6 defendants in such housing "for their own safety and the safety of the jail," Politico reported.
"Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging," Warren told Politico a month later. The Massachusetts Democrat fears the Jan. 6 defendants are being singled out to "punish" them or "break them so that they will cooperate" with federal prosecutors.
Durbin was surprised to learn about the restrictive housing. It should be a "rare exception" with a "clear justification," the Illinois Democrat told the news outlet, to be used in "very limited circumstances."
Staff for Durbin, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Warren, a member of the Senate Democratic leadership, did not respond to queries for an update on their efforts to get better treatment for the Jan. 6 defendants.
Note the response from the people in charge:
Both Bowser and Maloney "have refused the requests asked of them," according to Comer. A spokesperson for Maloney connected Just the News with an Oversight staffer, who has not responded, while Bowser's spokesperson has not responded.
A Department of Corrections spokesperson did not answer email questions and declined to speak on the record in a phone interview.
Note on the "bipartisan outrage":
Staff for Durbin, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Warren, a member of the Senate Democratic leadership, did not respond to queries for an update on their efforts to get better treatment for the Jan. 6 defendants.

Space Force commander removed after saying Marxism is infiltrating the military
By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon
May 16, 2021 | 12:38pm | Updated
Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier was temporarily reassigned after going on a podcast and touting his book, “Irresistible Revolution: Marxism’s Goal of Conquest & the Unmaking of the American Military,” according to military.com.
“This decision was based on public comments made by Lt. Col. Lohmeier in a recent podcast,” a Space Force spokesman told the outlet.
“Lt Gen. (Stephen) Whiting has initiated a command directed investigation on whether these comments constitute prohibited partisan political activity,” the statement said.
Lohmeier, commander of the 11th Space Warning Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado, got into hot water after appearing on the conservative podcast “Information Operation” last week.
His book claims that a “neo-Marxist agenda” has infiltrated the military.
“The diversity, inclusion and equity industry and the trainings we are receiving in the military … is rooted in critical race theory, which is rooted in Marxism,” Lohmeier told podcast host L. Todd Wood, military.com reported.
He insisted that his book is not political, but rather a warning about the increased politicization of the armed forces — some of which he said he’s seen first-hand.
I was right again.
Reminder that woke Americuck military can rag on Tucker Carlson and not be in trouble.

A leaked 17-page DARPA memo from March 27, 2021 entitled “Extremism and Insider Threat in the DoD” provides a clue as to what new categories of lawful thoughts, associations and reading materials are likely to be scanned and banned by Bishop Garrison’s CEWG. DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency colloquially known as “The Pentagon’s Brain,” recommended a brand new category called “Patriot Extremism,” which occurs when a citizen believes “the US government has become corrupt” or “has overstepped its constitutional boundaries”:

Tenets of the Hitlertopia Interpretation of Critical Race Theory:
-
Racism (HitlerThink) happened
-
Whitey created Racism, Slavery and Oppression (Acts of Hitler)
-
Whitey was able to achieve this because Whitey was the Majority and wielded Systemic and Institutional Power and Domination (Hitlertopia)
-
Whitey nefariously created Science, Liberal, Individualistic and Enlightement thought (HitlerThink), in Western Europe (Hitlerland) to oppress People of Color and to belittle and hide the achievements of People of Color (Act of Hitler)
-
Whitness was most explicitly expressed in the most accurate current depiction of the Ur-Whitey, der Führer Adolf Hitler.
-
Everybody harbors Racism (Hitler) because they, or their ancestors, existed in, and/or benefited from, an Inescapable, All-Pervading And All-Consuming, White Supremacist, Systemically Racist (Hitlerferous Aether) Society (Hitlertopia)
-
Racism (Hitler) Is The Default And Inescapable Mode Of Thought (Romero Hitler Infection)
-
Revealing the Unconscious Racism (Metal Hitler Solid: Hitler Espionage Action) of Whites (Hitler) disrupts White Comfort (Mein Kampfy Chair) and results in Anger and Resistance, aka White Fragility (Falling Off The Kampfy Chair, Mark of The Hitler)
-
Thus, Racism (Hitler) cannot be "decisively defeated" or "turned off" because Racism (Hitler) Is The Default State Of Man (The Eternal Hitler)
-
Thus to resist Hitler, we must be constantly and actively anti-Racist (anti-Hitler)
-
Whitey joins Whitey in Whitey Solidarity to perpetuate even more Racism just like the Ur-Whitey, Hitler (Hitler Exodia, the Forbidden One)
-
Thus the Hitlertopia Interpretation: Critical Race Theory can be easily understood as the relative proximity to the closest Platonic form of Ur-Whiteness, the Ur-Whitey, der Führer Adolf Hitler.

This humble Acolyte interprets Dr. Robin DiAngelo according to the Hitlertopia Interpretation of Critical Race Theory:
-
"we consider a challenge to our racial worldviews, as a challenge to our very identities as good, moral people"; "as a result, we (Whites) are insulated from racial stress, at the same time we come to feel entitled to and deserving of our advantage"; "see what lay beneath this anger and resistance to discuss race or listen to people of color, I have observed consistent responses from a wide variety of participants" = The Ur-Whitey, der Führer Adolf Hitler
-
"the smallest amount of racial stress is intolerable, and the mere suggestion that Being White has meaning" = the meaning is Hitler
-
"I began to see the Pillars of Whiteness, the unexamined beliefs that prop up whiteness" = Hitler
-
"how individualism allowed White people to exempt themselves from the forces of socialisation," = Hitlerferous Aether
-
"White people in North America live in a society that is deeply seperate and unequal by race, and White people are the beneficiaries of that seperation and inequality"; "given how seldom we experience racial discomfort in a society we dominate, we haven't had to build our racial stamina, socialised into a deeply internalised sense of racial superiority that we were either unaware of or can never admit to ourselves"; "I could see how we were taught to see racism only as discrete acts committed by individual people, rather as a complex interconnected system"; "I saw our investment in a system that serves us"; "social life is predictable and patterned in very observable ways"; "there's no way we're gonna get to where we need to go from a place of White comfort" = Hitlertopia
-
"This book is intended for us, for White progressives who so often despite our conscious intentions, make life difficult for people of color." = Dormant Romero Hitler Infection
-
"we become highly fragile in conversations about race"; "thus we percieve any attempts to connect us to a racial system, as an unsettling and moral offense"; "often triggers a range of defensive responses, and these emotions such as anger, fear, guilt and behaviours such as argumentation, silence and vitriol from the stress-inducing situation" = Falling Off The Kampfy Chair, Mark of The Hitler
-
"White progressives do indeed uphold and perpetrate racism, but our defensiveness and certitude make it virtually impossible to explain to us why we do so." = Russel's Hitler Teapot, Invisible Pink Hitler
-
"You're not the choir, there's no choir, I'm not the choir. When I say there's no choir, I mean that my learning will never be finished, and the moment I think I'm the choir, I think I'm gonna be done, and I'm gonna have certitude." = The Eternal Hitler, Romero Hitler Infection
Accept Hitler into your life.
You are Hitler that creates Hitlertopia that creates Hitler that creates racism that creates you that is the Hitler.
The Ur-Whitey, der Führer Adolf Hitler, commands your every action, and your proximity to Hitler is the quantification of your Racism (Hitler)!
Adolf Hitler never died in 1945. Instead, Hitler had become a bulletproof Idea, leaving behind the Eternal Hitler Empire: Hitlertopia, which eternally perpetuates Racism (Hitler) across time (time is a Racist [Hitler] construct).

Thanks to @WokeTemple, I now understand Critical Race Theory better: I am Hitler, I live in Hitlertopia, with Hitler Solidarity and HitlerThink.
(Not an ironic title)
Whitey created racism, slavery and oppression. (Hitler God creates itself)
Whitey have the majority and institutional power, that's how they created slavery and oppression. (Hitler Power)
This is Whitey's establishment/system/civilization/thought. (Hitlertopia, HitlerThink)
Whitey created Hitler, Whitey has Unconscious Bias, Whitey is Hitler. (Russel's Hitler Teapot, Hitler Jesus)
Whitey = Hitler creates violence, oppression and genocide. (Physical Manifestation Of Hitler)
Whitey bands together with Whitey in Whitey Solidarity. (Hitler Exodia, the Forbidden One)
Participating in Whitey Systems causes White Adjacency, Proximity To Whiteness. (Aura Of Hitler causes Hitler Infection)
White Adjacency, Proximity To Whiteness makes you Complicit In White Supremacy. (Posession By Hitler)
You are all Hitler. If you succeed in society (Hitlertopia) using facts and logic and Enlightenment thought (HitlerThink), you are White Adjacent, Proximity To Whiteness and Complicit In White Supremacy (Aura Of Hitler), creating Racism Slavery And Oppression (Hitler God), the manifestation of arch-Whitey: Hitler (Posession By Hitler), creating an explosion of Repressed White Violence (Repression Of Inner Hitler) creating genocide (Physical Manifestation Of Hitler).
If you are accused of Racism (Hitler) and you have an emotional outburst denying it (a heated emotional outburst is an indication of innocence when faced with a false accusation in criminal psychology) you are guilty of White Fragility (Hitler Shame), and are guilty of Racism (Hitler), according to the logic of Robin DiAngelo, author of White Fragility, an anti-racist (anti-Hitler) and anti-fascist (anti-Hitler).

1/7] My first meme. When I was halfway through my first reading of White Fragility, I got an uncomfortable feeling. That I was being coerced. Manipulated. But I couldn’t put my finger on why………
2/7] DiAngelo would say (and does say) that the uncomfortable feeling is my unconscious “Fragility”. And therein lies the trap: Any disagreement can be (and is) framed as “fragility”.
3/7] If disagreement or questioning of a theory is proof of the theory [page 119], then we are not dealing with ideas or scholarship. We are dealing with a religion.
4/7] “Joe, you are possessed by the Devil.” —“No, I’m not.” “That’s exactly what people possessed by Devil say.” —“I disagree.” “Disagreement. Proof you are possessed by the Devil.”
5/7] “Joe, you have White Fragility.” —“No, I don’t.” “That’s exactly what people with White Fragility say.” —“I disagree.” “Disagreement. Proof of your White Fragility.”[page 119]
6/7] How can one know if your resistance comes from your own logic & intuition—or from The Devil? How can one know if your resistance comes from your own logic & intuition—or from your “Fragility”?
7/7] Any scholarship that renders disagreement impossible is not scholarship. It’s religion. And so, that inspired one of my first memes. And also inspired “The Woke Temple”.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very unfortunate title
Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2020 Verified Purchase
This book has an unfortunate title, because it is not really a case against free speech. It's more a socialist/Marxist analysis of the concept of free speech. It would more properly be called something like "The Truth about Free Speech," but of course I think the title as it is will sell a lot more books than the title I suggest here. I guess Marxist thought needs capitalism to sell its books.
Anyway, the basic point of the book is a socialist one: why are we running around touting free speech when some people are oppressed, don't have basic needs met, and are subject to state violence? Does free speech matter in that case? And in fact the wealthy and powerful define free speech in their favor, and the oppressed need more than speech, they need action. But of course taking action such as civil disobedience crosses the line, and is banned and those who engage in it are punished. So free speech remains meaningless because all that is really free is the rights of the rich and powerful to continue to stomp on your neck.
Ultimately, I remain unconvinced. Conservatives are on an anti-free speech tear, with the campus watch lists designed to intimidate anyone who they deem not loyal enough to The Great State, and to ruin the careers of those who advocate for Palestinian rights. The fight against this intimidation is a free speech issue, and the oppressed need to be allowed to say their opinion freely, even if it doesn't involve bootlicking of the military or the cops or a piece of cloth. I see no other way to support these rights than to support free speech in general, for everyone, even if, especially if, it expresses an idea that offends the Orange illiterate one. (For those reading this in 2120 AD, the "Orange illiterate one" is a reference to Donald Trump, who I assume is still your president as you read this).

my college students are all terrified of saying the wrong thing and being cancelled. they hate liberals and liberal discourse. they feel like they are constantly policed, discourse-wise. and they're all communist-leaning, not conservatives. we have a real problem !!!!
unfortunately conservatives have captured this very real problem and made it about "pc culture". i argued that it was mostly about internalized surveillance and "gentrification of the mind" with the help of the works of @sarahschulman3
they were receptive to that. but the longer we pretend that this discourse policing is not a real thing, the more people will become reactionaries because they feel like they can't be them full selves in any 'left leaning' spaces
until this class i thought i was maybe internet poisoned and thus thought it was a bigger issue than it was, but the class was very passionate and concerned about it, and the vast majority of them are not internet discourse people!
this is at a continuing education program at a state school. these are not privileged people who just want license to be racist lol.
i always think about a line in a naomi klein book (i forget which one): the time when this identity-based discourse policing became really popular, the 1990s, was also the time of the largest consolidation of wealth and corporate power in the US. these things are not unrelated.
i also think this is a very different problem than popular fascists being protested on college campuses. there are two separate issues going on and we need to separate them!
in case u think i’m a hypocrite here is 2 tweets expanding on my book and this thread
p.e. moskowitz @_pem_pem 6 May 2021
my book is about how conservatives have weaponized free speech to push fascism and how free speech issues actually affect the left. it never claimed that issues of suppression never existed
Beth Posting her Vaccination Card @bethheinly
Ummm didn’t you write a book in defense of this environment concerning what was happening on college campuses around the 2000’s?
that being said my opinion on things has changed slightly since writing the book. i thought “cancel culture” was a kind of overblown facet of the whole free speech debate when i wrote it and now i see it as a more real problem than i’d realized
i also think things have rapidly evolved — what conservatives termed “cancel culture” 5 years ago was fascists being protested on college campuses. that’s very different than left-leaning college students feeling stifled in the classroom. it’s two separate issues.
so rather than my book being wrong i think it needs an addendum! but i’m also willing to admit that the picture i painted was incomplete.

Land Back!
As of this writing, Black Hammer has liberated 200 ACRES of land in so-called "Colorado, USA", 10,000 ft above sea level, lush and fertile! Our comrades who had the chance to visit the land sang only praises of the land-how the land is perfect to build our eco-friendly and durable earthbag homes, the beautiful rivers and streams that pass through it, and the amazing flora and fauna we will be living in community with.
This was not an individual effort though. From those who donated a dollar and shared this page on their Facebook, to the comrades who led the planning of Hammer City and scouted the land- we are all responsible for this victory. Hammer City would not be possible without the unity and support of the colonized masses worldwide.
Our work does not here comrades. We must keep on fundraising so we can build earthbag homes (each costing around $5000), permaculture systems, waste management systems. Please continue to donate and share. Let your friends and family know of this amazing feat you have helped achieve. We are close to reaching the $70,000 mark for the Build Hammer City fundraiser and we will need your help for that.
For more updates regarding Hammer City, make sure to check out Black Hammer's Facebook page (facebook. com/BlackHammerOrg) and our weekly Tuesday rallies (every Tuesday at 7 pm Eastern Time on Facebook Live).

A far-left extremist using an online moniker to advocate for targeted killings of law enforcement has been revealed to be the student body president of Virginia Commonwealth University.
20-year-old Taylor Marie Maloney, from Charleston, SC, was championed earlier this month by the ACLU of Virginia for being the "first openly transgender and non-binary person" elected to the position. But social media posts written by the communist activist have since surfaced showing their advocacy for killing cops, rioting, looting, vandalism and hatred of white people.
"Ur reminder to advocate for the killing of kops," Maloney tweeted in March from their now-suspended account, @okrasocialist.
When a follower of the black nationalist Nation of Islam group rammed his car into Capitol Police, killing one of the officers on April 2, Maloney celebrated his death. "[L]ove this we need more of this," Maloney wrote, responding to the breaking news from the Associated Press.
On the day of the Derek Chauvin verdict, Maloney declared on Twitter that they hoped he was acquitted so that rioters can "burn this b— to the ground."
Maloney has also made a number of racist posts on social media. "I hate white people so much its not even funny," they tweeted last Friday. "If u are white you should [I don't know] shut up," Maloney's new Twitter bio reads after their previous two accounts were suspended on the social media platform. Maloney also posted her disgust about a mixed-race woman who is married to a white man, describing their children as "white quadroon kids."
Other controversial comments from Maloney include their defense of the two teen carjackers who killed Uber Eats driver Mohammad Anwar. Maloney also called for the burning of city buses in Richmond, Va. "[W]hen Richmond gonna fry up another [Greater Richmond Transit Company] bus? When are we gonna see some action again? I thought yall was anarchists," Maloney tweeted last week.
Maloney's online extremism has long extended into their real-life activities.
In July 2020, Maloney was arrested at a Black Lives Matter-Antifa riot in Richmond where militants started fires, smashed windows and assaulted responding police officers with rocks. Maloney was arrested alongside communist activist Madeleine "Molly" Conger. However, both their cases were not pursued by the prosecutor.
Despite Maloney's history of extremist politics, the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia championed and profiled Maloney earlier this month for being an openly transgender and non-binary student body president at a major academic institution.

UCW-VCU condemns the decision of President Rao to release a statement with criticism of tweets posted to the private account of student government president, Taylor Maloney. As president of a public university, Mr. Rao has a responsibility and legal obligation to avoid any conduct that could be understood as having a “chilling effect” targeting freedom of expression. In this case President Rao did not live up to this obligation.
While our university has a mandated responsibility to protect the freedom of speech of its students under any circumstances, President Rao’s statement was a particularly damaging choice in the context where Maloney is the target of threats from extremist groups, and where individual threats to the safety of this VCU student activist have credibly been made. In this context, President Rao’s words tacitly affirmed the ongoing attacks targeting Maloney online, which have been led by right-wing media outlets and escalated by white supremacists. Endangering a student leader in this manner is inexcusable in university governance.

A student at Virginia Commonwealth University is receiving threats and insults online after their political speech was made the focus of a right-wing media article.
Claire Gastañaga, the executive director of the Virginia branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, says some of Maloney’s comments online have been “abhorrent and indefensible,” but adds that the statements remain protected free speech under the Constitution. “We will continue to defend their right to express their views even if we disagree with them,” she said.
Gastañaga also questions the intentions of the author behind the Post Millennial article. “We need to ask why a Canadian news company whose mission is to ‘report Canadian news events’ is interested in the political views and personal information of a U.S. college student,” she said.

Meet Bishop Garrison: The Pentagon’s Hatchet Man in Charge of Purging MAGA Patriots and Installing Race Theory in The Military
May 5, 2021 (25m ago)
This hatchet man’s name is Bishop Garrison, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense for Diversity and Inclusion:
As the new head of the U.S. military’s “Countering Extremism” task force, this critical race theory loving, Trump Derangement Syndrome suffering, fake news spreading, 100% partisan hack is the man who will now separate permissible “opinion” from purgeable “extremism” at the Pentagon, which is the nation’s largest employer, overseeing 2.9 million personnel.
Just as the Defense Secretary’s 60 day stand down to take stock of “extremism” within the military’s ranks expired, the Pentagon issued a formal memo on April 9th describing its “Immediate Actions to Counter Extremism.” This memo establishes the Countering Extremism Working Group (“CEWG”) to develop and implement all “Counter Extremism” policies at the Pentagon.
Bishop Garrison is at the helm.
If you’re in the military, it appears that Bishop Garrison’s CEWG will scour your Internet history, making sure to target “gray areas, such as reading, following and liking extremist material and content in social media forums and platforms.”
“Patriot Extremism” is completely distinct from “White supremacy,” which DARPA maintains as a wholly separate category.
But DARPA’s “Symbols of Extremism” collage on page 6 clearly reveals their intended target: the collage includes 12 “far-right” symbols, versus just two Antifa symbols, and just one for ISIS. “Extremist” “far-right” symbols include Pepe the Frog, the OK hand gesture, “Come and Take It” guns-rights memes, and the “Q” in QAnon:
In an August 2019 screed entitled “Racism is an existential threat“, Bishop Garrison directly connects his support for the 1619 Project to his conception of “white nationalist extremism” as the pre-eminent security threat facing the United States:
The country’s horrific history on race and its continued refusal to engage these problems head-on has exacerbated the issue to the point of a violent crisis. This crisis continues to seep into our state and local domestic policies, our technologies, the algorithms of social media companies, and (potentially) our future like a corrosive poison contaminating a water table. We will continue to face the nation-ending threat of white supremacy and white nationalist extremism unless we invest in Combating Violent Extremism (CVE) programs, which this administration has cut, and find the courage to have honest-to-God difficult, uncomfortable conversations in our homes and communities about our history of race and privilege in America and how it has shaped our lives today.

Silence from our Congressional leaders is complicity. He is only going to get worse from here, & his party and its leadership are watching it happen while doing nothing to stop it. Support for him, a racist, is support for ALL his beliefs.
He's dragging a lot of bad actors (misogynist, extremists, other racists) out into the light, normalizing their actions. If you support the President, you support that. There is no room for nuance with this. There is no more "but I'm not like that" talk.
Because you're watching what he says. You're listening to his careful choice of words. And you're still willing to follow him and/or not speak out. So yes, you're very much like that. It's time we all step up. #WeArePatriots #Black44

Journalist linked to Antifa death threat video against Mayor Ted Wheeler
The Post Millennial can report exclusively that a left-wing journalist is linked to a video showing a death threat made against Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler.
Andy Ngo and Mia CathellThe Post Millennial

@Hazeee1312’s profile photo showed a person wearing the same stylized white mask as the person in the video threat. Within hours of sharing the video, @Hazeee1312 deleted his entire account, which was created back in 2013.
TPM can report exclusively that the @Hazeee1312 account was operated by far-left journalist, Jarrid Bailey Huber. The 21-year-old from Damascus, Ore. has been a staple at Antifa protests and riots in Portland and elsewhere in the U.S.
Huber’s Facebook page is filled with flyers advertising BLM-Antifa events. His now-deleted Twitter account also shared extremist content from Antifa accounts. On Wednesday he also briefly shared the video on his Facebook but quickly deleted the post. A February 2020 post by Huber used language against Wheeler similar to what was said by the narrator in one part of the video.
When reached for comment, Huber denied having any involvement in the video.
“I had nothing to do with this video, I was asked to share it and that is all I did,” Huber wrote in an email.
When asked who asked him to promote the video, he responded, “an anonymous person.” Huber then said he did not give permission for his name to be used in this report and refused to answer further inquiries.
Wheeler’s office sent TPM the following statement: “The Police Bureau has opened an investigation into the threat.”
Additionally, FBI Portland’s spokesperson Beth Anne Steele released the following statement:
“The FBI is aware of the video and is assisting Portland Police Bureau in the investigation. Due to the on-going nature of the case, we have no further information to release at this time. Anyone with information as to the person or people responsible for this video are encouraged to contact the FBI or PPB. The FBI can be reached at (503) 224-4181 or via tips. fbi. gov.”
Huber is the latest journalist to be linked to or arrested over far-left extremism. Earlier this month, University of Oregon journalism student Alma Yesenia Raven-Guido was charged with multiple felonies over her alleged role in carrying out arson attacks during Antifa rioting in Portland. The same week, Miguel Louis Lofland, who calls for political violence on his social media, was arrested in Olympia, Wash. at an Antifa riot. He was wearing a homemade “Antifa News Network” press badge at the time. In December 2020, journalist Renea Baek Goddard was indicted in Little Rock, Ark. following a months-long ATF investigation. She’s accused of firebombing police cruisers at BLM riots last summer.

Almost Half of Federal Cases Against Portland Rioters Have Been Dismissed
Many charged in connection with violence surrounding last year’s racial-justice protests have completed community service and won’t be tried
By Aruna Viswanatha and Sadie Gurman Updated April 15, 2021 12:41 pm ET
Of 96 cases the U.S. attorney’s office in Portland filed last year charging protesters with federal crimes, including assaulting federal officers, civil disorder, and failing to obey, prosecutors have dropped 47 of them, government documents show. Ten people have pleaded guilty to related charges and two were ordered detained pending trial. None have gone to trial.
The penalties levied so far against any federal defendants, most of whom were arrested in clashes around federal buildings in Portland including the courthouse, have largely consisted of community service, such as working in a food bank or encouraging people to vote.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump supporter shares what he uncovered after infiltrating anti-fascist group in Sonoma Co.
By Dan Noyes Thursday, April 29, 2021 4:32PM
SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Shocking comments were made during an online meeting of far-left activists in Sonoma County, discussing a possible protest for this Saturday.
Group leader: "It's May Day, baby, like come out and take, take somethin' over with us, I don't, I don't (bleep)-ing know." Member: "Let's kill people. (laughs)" Group Leader: "Let's kill some cops." Member: "Yeah."
The manifesto posted online for SoCo (Sonoma County) Radical Action or SRA says, "Do not hesitate, do not wait ... the brick in the street is meant to be thrown! The paint in the can is meant to be sprayed! The cop in your head is meant to be killed!"
The Trump supporter was able to join the group that communicates through the encrypted messaging app Wickr.
Infiltrator: "I said, 'Comrade, you know, I, I want to smash the system the same as you,' you know, make them not feel alone, because that's what they really want to hear to know that there's more people like them."
He saved messages, documents, and recordings of their meetings.
The I-Team has learned the group's leader who goes by the screen name "Marb" is a 25-year-old college student, who was arrested for "felony assault on a police officer" last year at this Oakland riot after the death of George Floyd; the district attorney declined to file charges. The Trump supporter says he made this recording in March, when Marb discussed naming the group "SoCo Antifa."
Marb: "It was originally SoCo Antifa and people didn't like that, people didn't like that we called ourselves Antifa."
Member: "Well, more than that, they were like, we're gonna get on the FBI watch list. Remember?" Marb: "Yeah." Member: "They apparently have an eye out for that."
Marb also talked about that same hand statue being vandalized on other occasions.
Member: "Did someone use stencils? You know-" Marb: "Freehand!" Member: "Oh, really? Okay." Marb: "Yeah. It was actually a lot easier for this situation." Infiltrator: "So, this is the list here."
The infiltrator tells the I-Team he copied what the group calls its "target list," people they want to "dox" - to publish their private information, their addresses and phone numbers, to surveil them for possible vandalism. After his testimony, they placed Brodd at the top of the list and within an hour of the attack on his former house, Marb is back on Wickr at 3:48 a.m. telling the group, "Hey y 'all, late notice, but some comrades took action at a house owned by Barry Brodd and if someone could swing by in the morning and get pictures, our comrades would be very grateful!"
The infiltrator has been in touch with both the sheriff's department and Santa Rosa police about the potential threat.
Lt. Jeneane Kucker told us, "I don't know of any specific threats to my knowledge that have been made. But obviously, if threats are made, we're going to take those very seriously, and we're going to look into that."
Marb refused my attempts to interview him, but the infiltrator intercepted one message from the group leader about "Dan Noyes at ABC7 asking about SRA. ...To firmly restate our position, nobody, myself included, should cooperate with press or cops."

Joe Biden slammed for forgetting 9/11 attacks, calls Capitol riots 'worst attack' on democracy since Civil War
Trump advisor Jason Miller tweeted: 'Worst attack on our Democracy since the Civil War? Not 9/11? Not Pearl Harbor???'

"As I stand here tonight — just one day shy of the 100th day of my administration. 100 days since I took the oath of office, lifted my hand off our family Bible, and inherited a nation in crisis," Biden said. "The worst pandemic in a century. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War. Now, after just 100 days, I can report to the nation: America is on the move again. Turning peril into possibility. Crisis into opportunity. Setback into strength. Life can knock us down," Biden said. "But in America, we never stay down. In America, we always get up. And today, that's what we're doing: America is rising anew. After 100 Days of rescue and renewal, America is ready for takeoff. 100 days ago, America's house was on fire. We had to act."

January 6, 2021: The New Kristallnacht, Pearl Harbor, 9/11?
Hardly. And the hyperbole isn’t helping the situation.
by PAUL KENGOR January 12, 2021, 6:20 PM
- Former California Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger compared the event to Kristallnacht. Yes, you read that right.
“Wednesday was the day of broken glass right here in the United States,” Schwarzenegger averred, no doubt to the delight of Hollywood liberals. “The broken glass was in the windows of the United States Capitol. But the mob did not just shatter the windows of the Capitol. They shattered the ideas we took for granted.”
- Prominent Never Trumper David French came up with maybe the strangest description of all, dubbing the moment a “Christian insurrection.”
“I’m going to be honest,” wrote French. “I can’t shake the sadness. I can’t shake the anger. We have to be clear about what happened in Washington D.C. on January 6th. A violent Christian insurrection [emphasis original] invaded and occupied the Capitol.”
- Worse, our incoming president, Joe Biden the Healer, has done nothing to calm the waters. After taking aim at the “riotous mob” of “domestic terrorists” — directly charging Donald Trump with “inciting a mob to attack the Capitol” — the incoming president himself groped for some Nazi analogies. He generously added Sens. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley to his Trump–Goebbels category. “They’re part of the big lie, the big lie,” stammered Biden, as liberals swooned over their new healer. “I was being reminded by a friend of mine, and maybe you were with me, I can’t recall, when we told that, you know, Goebbels and the great lie, you keep repeating the law, repeating the lie.”
Gee, thanks, Joe. That’s how you calm things.
But Biden wasn’t finished. In his most recklessly divisive charge all week, he racialized the toxic situation. “No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesters yesterday that they wouldn’t have been treated very differently than the mob that stormed the Capitol,” Biden proclaimed. “We all know that’s true — and it’s unacceptable.”
- Yet another Democrat leader, Chuck Schumer, lunged for Pearl Harbor analogies. “President Franklin Roosevelt set a day aside that will live in infamy,” observed Schumer. “Unfortunately, we can now add January 6, 2021, to that very short list of dates in American history that will live forever in infamy.”
What Schumer is really telling us there is his goal: to try to equate the event with December 7, 1941. That is, the event that brought America into a world war.
- Heck, why not call it another 9/11?
Actually, that’s being done. Professor Jeremi Suri, Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, described by Insider Higher Ed magazine as a “scholar of democracy,” described the event at the Capitol as “another 9/11 attack on the U.S. government by terrorists.” He said that “the attackers are motivated by xenophobia, racism and hate” and equated them with the beheaders of Al-Qaeda. Actually, that apparently wasn’t extreme enough for Suri, who went much further, equating the GOP leadership with Al-Qaeda: “Today’s terrorism is at the heart of the Republican Party, which now, in much of its leadership, has become a white supremacist Al Qaeda.”

That Teen Vogue gem, “Who Is Karl Marx: Meet the Anti-Capitalist Scholar,” informs girls how Marx’s “ideas can still teach us about the past and present.” Among those ideas: “There’s this myth of the free market, but Marx shows very clearly that capitalism emerged through a state of violence.”
“My wife, alas, delivered a girl and not a boy,” he regretted to his partner, Friedrich Engels, of his wife Jenny’s deficient birthing abilities. Marx would later lament to one of his daughters, who likewise gave birth to a girl: “I congratulate you on the happy delivery…. I prefer the ‘male’ sex among children who will be born at this turning point in history.”
Marx’s daughters lived lives of hopelessness and despair. In fact, four of Marx’s six children died before he did, including his oldest daughter. Marx’s two surviving daughters committed suicide in joint suicide pacts with their husbands.
As for the sons-in-law, that was another unhappy tale. Marx detested both, whom he viewed as idiots. He wished: “To hell with both of them!” He particularly disliked Laura’s husband, Paul, whom Marx ridiculed as “Negrillo” or “The Gorilla” because he was half Cuban and had some “Negro” blood in his veins.
Actually, it isn’t quite right to say that Lenchen worked for the Marx family, given that she toiled without pay, almost like an indentured servant for life, as Karl’s chattel. The champion of the proletariat never paid Lenchen a penny. The stumpy, frumpy girl gave her everything to the Marx household.
Karl, who refused to bathe, groom, and suffered from boils all over his body (including his penis), eventually bedded Lenchen behind Jenny’s back. Historians have no idea how often or the exact circumstances, including whether or not Marx’s use of Lenchen as sexual receptacle was consensual. Wrote one biographer (Robert Payne): “That she was virtually his bondslave was a matter of entire indifference to him. It was enough that she was available to serve his sexual needs…. We shall probably never know whether he raped or seduced the servant, though the large number of images concerned with rape in his later writings suggest that it was rape rather than seduction. In due course a child was born.”

Why Not Cancel Karl Marx?
Racism and anti-Semitism were second nature to him, and yet the cancel culture gives him a free pass every time.

Consider how Marx spoke of his own son-in-law, Paul Lafargue, husband of his daughter Laura. Paul came from Cuba, born in Santiago, and Marx thus viewed him as marred by “Negro” blood and denigrated him as “Negrillo” or “the Gorilla.” Karl never let up his ridicule of poor Paul. In November 1882, still 14 years after Lafargue and Laura married, Marx complained to Engels that “Lafargue has the blemish customarily found in the negro tribe — no sense of shame, by which I mean shame about making a fool of oneself.”
Marx had a friendly audience for such views in Friedrich Engels, his Communist Manifesto partner. Engels, a proud Darwinian, averred that Paul possessed “one-eighth or one-twelfth nigger blood.” In 1887, Lafargue had been a political candidate for a council seat in a Paris district that contained a zoo. In an April 1887 letter to Paul’s wife, Engels cruelly opined, “Being in his quality as a nigger, a degree nearer to the rest of the animal kingdom than the rest of us, he is undoubtedly the most appropriate representative of that district.”
It is no wonder that Marx’s son-in-law had such low self-esteem. In fact, one day in November 1911, Paul ended it all. He killed himself in a suicide pact with Marx’s daughter. In fact, two of Marx’s daughters killed themselves in suicide pacts with their husbands.
Karl Marx freely dispensed with nasty epithets aimed not only at blacks but at Jews. Biographer Jonathan Sperber notes that Marx’s correspondence is “filled with contemptuous remarks about Jews.” Even his admiring biographer Francis Wheen, who habitually defends nearly everything about Marx, admits that he “sprayed anti-Semitic insults at his enemies with savage glee.”
Of one contemporary, Marx blasted his “cynical, oily-obtrusive, phony-Baronial Jew-manners.” Particularly loathsome to Marx was anyone he suspected of part Jewish and African roots. Marx referred to his fellow German socialist Ferdinand Lassalle as a “greasy Jew,” “the little kike,” “water-polack Jew,” “Jew Braun,” “Yid,” “Izzy,” “Wily Ephraim,” “Baron Itzig,” and “the Jewish Nigger.” In a July 1862 letter to Engels, Marx confidently observed of Lassalle, “It is now perfectly clear to me that, as the shape of his head and the growth of his hair indicates, he is descended from the Negroes who joined in Moses’ flight from Egypt.” Lassalle’s “cranial formation,” detected Marx, was the giveaway. Marx did, however, allow for an exception: “unless his mother or grandmother on the father’s side was crossed with a nigger.” Marx chortled, “This union of Jew and German on a Negro base was bound to produce an extraordinary hybrid.” He also hastened to add, “The fellow’s importunity is also niggerlike.”
Karl Marx summed it up plainly in a letter to his longtime friend Arnold Ruge in 1843: “the Israelite faith is repulsive to me.”

The Ugly Racism of Karl Marx
Walter E. Williams / @WE_Williams / May 10, 2017
For example, Marx didn’t think much of Mexicans. When the United States annexed California after the Mexican War, Marx sarcastically asked, “Is it a misfortune that magnificent California was seized from the lazy Mexicans who did not know what to do with it?”
Engels shared Marx’s contempt for Mexicans, explaining: “In America we have witnessed the conquest of Mexico and have rejoiced at it. It is to the interest of its own development that Mexico will be placed under the tutelage of the United States.”
Marx had a racial vision that might be interesting to his modern-day black supporters. In a letter to Engels, in reference to his socialist political competitor Ferdinand Lassalle, Marx wrote:
It is now completely clear to me that he, as is proved by his cranial formation and his hair, descends from the Negroes who had joined Moses’ exodus from Egypt, assuming that his mother or grandmother on the paternal side had not interbred with a n—–. Now this union of Judaism and Germanism with a basic Negro substance must produce a peculiar product.
Engels shared Marx’s racial philosophy. In 1887, Paul Lafargue, who was Marx’s son-in-law, was a candidate for a council seat in a Paris district that contained a zoo. Engels claimed that Lafargue had “one-eighth or one-twelfth n—– blood.”
In a letter to Lafargue’s wife, Engels wrote, “Being in his quality as a n—–, a degree nearer to the rest of the animal kingdom than the rest of us, he is undoubtedly the most appropriate representative of that district.”
Marx was also an anti-Semite, as seen in his essay titled “On the Jewish Question,” which was published in 1844. Marx asked:
What is the worldly religion of the Jew? Huckstering. What is his worldly God? Money. … Money is the jealous god of Israel, in face of which no other god may exist. Money degrades all the gods of man—and turns them into commodities. … The bill of exchange is the real god of the Jew. His god is only an illusory bill of exchange. … The chimerical nationality of the Jew is the nationality of the merchant, of the man of money in general.

Three years and four million views after upload, today YouTube has age-restricted my video “Incels.” Age-restriction significantly reduces a video’s visibility, requiring viewers to be logged in and over 18 to watch, and suppressing it in the recommendation algorithm.
YouTube’s community guidelines are supposed to make it clear to creators what content is allowed on the platform. But the guidelines are enforced very arbitrarily (actually, worse than arbitrarily—video restriction/removal is often triggered by an easily abused flagging system)
Randomly enforced restrictions are more restrictive than ones that are consistently enforced. If enforcement is consistent, you know what the rules are, and you can work around them. But arbitrary enforcement forces you into superstitious, neurotic self-censorship
You don’t know what exactly you can get away with, so you start bleeping, blurring, and omitting anything that could possibly be evocative of sex, drugs, violence, profanity, hate speech, or bullying. This is bad for art.
Suppose you’re a history YouTuber. Can you show images of Nazi Germany for educational purposes (images often shown in school to under-18s)? According the the community guidelines yes, but in practice such videos are often restricted or removed for “hate speech.”
Suppose you’re a feminist or sex educator. Can you say the words pornography, rape, clitoris? YouTube is often the only chance to educate teenagers about these topics before PornHub does. But on YouTube, this kind of content is very often age-restricted.
Because most of my funding comes from @Patreon, I’m in the fortunate position of not being financially reliant on the erratic whims of this broken system. So I can afford to take risks. But most creators aren’t so lucky.
Free speech should be reclaimed as an essential leftist issue. We should not surrender the most fundamental civil right to Google LLC in the name of deplatforming rightists and curtailing harassment. It’s not worth the cost.

I’ll call it cancel culture trope 9: Encyclopedia Problematica. There is a parallel between “diet Nazi” Internet (8chan/ED/KF doxxers) and Twitter wokescolds in this tactic of anthologizing a person’s entire history of misdeeds & embarrassments, and weaponizing it to harass them.
“Cancel culture” is not unique to the left. Remember that Gamergate was ignited by a Tumblr-esque callout post (Gamergate being essentially cancel culture for male misogynists)
I’ve noticed a disturbing crossover between far-right doxxing and far-left mobbing, a pipeline of humiliating or incriminating information passing over from one group to the other. Eg, Twitter leftists “canceling” people with information fed to them by doxxers/channers
The “Rape Rap” mentioned in this video being a good example, a cancelable transgression Lindsay never intended for public eyes, preserved and held over her for years by Nazis, only to be trotted out 12 years later by leftists trying to make the case that she’s a Horrible Person
Please be very careful and try to notice when this is happening and not take part. We have to fight for the distinction between good-faith criticism of a person’s words vs. the perverse character assassination that often goes on here.

It seems the #1 reason conservatives like Milo is that he's the best piece of evidence supporting their "leftist war on free speech" story.
ie they see his events suppressed by protesters, and in their eagerness to believe the "free speech" thing, they assume he's worth defending

Girondins did not share the ferocious fanaticism or the ruthless opportunism of the future Montagnard organisers of the Reign of Terror. As the Revolution developed, the Girondins often found themselves opposing its results; the overthrow of the monarchy on 10 August 1792 and the September Massacres of 1792 occurred while they still nominally controlled the government, but the Girondins tried to distance themselves from the results of the September Massacres.
The trial of the 22 began before the Revolutionary Tribunal on 24 October 1793. The verdict was a foregone conclusion. On 31 October, they were borne to the guillotine. It took 36 minutes to cut off 22 heads, one of which was already dead. Charles Éléonor Dufriche de Valazé had committed suicide the previous day upon hearing the sentence he was given.[17]
Of those who escaped to the provinces, after wandering about singly or in groups most were either captured and executed or committed suicide.

The Mountain (French: La Montagne) was a political group during the French Revolution. Its members, called the Montagnards (French: [mɔ̃taɲaʁ]), sat on the highest benches in the National Assembly.
They were the most radical group and opposed the Girondins. The term, first used during a session of the Legislative Assembly, came into general use in 1793. By the summer of 1793, that pair of opposed minority groups divided the National Convention. That year, led by Maximilien Robespierre, the Montagnards unleashed the Reign of Terror.
However, this constitution was never actually enacted.[16] The Constitution of 1793 was abandoned when Robespierre later granted himself and the Committee of Public Safety dictatorial powers in order to "defend the Revolution".[17]

More than half of the around 30 so-called deferred resolution deals, in which prosecutors ask the court to drop cases once defendants complete volunteer work, were initiated last fall under the Trump administration, interviews and a review of cases shows. Prosecutors have continued to pursue such deals under President Biden.
Senior Trump Justice Department officials had pushed prosecutors to be aggressive in bringing a full slate of federal charges, including possibly sedition and racketeering, The Wall Street Journal previously reported, but no such charges were filed.
Federal prosecutors in Washington are pursuing more than 400 alleged members of the pro-Trump mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. While many Democrats say the government should make a priority of confronting violent right-wing extremism, some Republicans have cited last year’s events in Portland as evidence that violence by leftists or unaffiliated demonstrators poses a threat as well.
Attorney General Merrick Garland said at his confirmation hearing that while he was concerned about the Portland violence, he viewed the Capitol riot as a domestic extremist attack, seeing it as directed at interfering with government functions while the Portland violence targeted unoccupied buildings at night.
“Both are criminal,” he said, “but one is a core attack on our democratic institutions.”
Portland has again this week faced nighttime violence following peaceful protests over the Sunday killing of a 20-year-old Black man, Daunte Wright, by police in Minnesota. Police declared a riot on Monday night as a crowd of 200 gathered around a Portland government building and threw rocks and shot fireworks at officers, shattering windows and spraying graffiti, video shows.
No federal charges have been filed in connection with this week’s unrest, said Kevin Sonoff, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office. Portland Police cited only one arrest.
Federal law-enforcement officials said they tried to use criminal charges last year to deter the nightly violence. “All of our cases are handled on their own merits and our prosecutors have broad discretion on how each is resolved,” Mr. Sonoff said.

Antifa continued its months-long siege of the ICE facility in Portland on Saturday night. Videos posted on Twitter show the violence perpetrated by the Antifa rioters as they smashed windows and eventually set a fire on the front of the building while ICE officers remained trapped behind blocked doors.
“They then set it on fire while federal officers were inside,” independent journalist Andy Ngo tweeted. “Antifa also obscured the security cameras before launching the arson attack.”
“Burn the precinct to the ground,” Antifa protesters shouted as the fire raged.

Democrat Portland Mayor ‘Done’ With ‘Anarchist Mob,’ Begs Public To Help ‘Unmask’ Rioters
By Emily Zanotti Apr 25, 2021 DailyWire.com
“The city is beginning to recover, but self-described anarchists who engage in regular criminal destruction don’t want things to open up, to recover,” Wheeler told Portland residents. “They want to prevent us from doing the work of making a better Portland for everyone. They want to burn, they want to bash.”
Wheeler who, back in June, pledged to divert millions from Portland law enforcement amid calls to “defund the police” (a position he reversed in March) said on Friday that he supports Portland police using all “legal strategies” to handle the riots, including the controversial “kettling” maneuver, which has police routing protesters into a small area, allowing them out one by one after being processed and searched.
Wheeler said that Black Lives Matter has already stepped forward to denounce the destruction, and he is now asking Portland residents to turn in friends and neighbors they believe might be part of the “self-described anarchist mob” to authorities.
“Our job is to unmask them, arrest them and prosecute them,” he said, ”asking the public to contact the police and provide them with information about the rioters, write down their license plate numbers or film them when they commit acts of vandalism,” per The Washington Post.
“Together we can make a stand,” Wheeler added. “We’re doing what we can today. I’m also asking for your help to make a stand and take our city back.”
“Our community needs to resume their lives, people need to go back to work, employers need to be able to reopen,” he said.
Why do anything? It's not like mostly peaceful protestors of the correct political alignment ever lands in jail. Even when they tried to peacefully burn cops alive.
On the other hand, the DOJ considers poking your head through a broken door, conduct worthy of using lethal force, so they closed the investigation.
Seems fine.

Department of Justice Closes Investigation into the Death of Ashli Babbitt
The investigation revealed no evidence to establish beyond a reasonable doubt that the officer willfully committed a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 242. Specifically, the investigation revealed no evidence to establish that, at the time the officer fired a single shot at Ms. Babbitt, the officer did not reasonably believe that it was necessary to do so in self-defense or in defense of the Members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber. Acknowledging the tragic loss of life and offering condolences to Ms. Babbitt’s family, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and U.S. Department of Justice have therefore closed the investigation into this matter.

Columbus police officer fatally shoots girl swinging knife
By FARNOUSH AMIRI and RYAN KRYSKA today
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus police shot and killed a teenage girl who swung at two other people with a knife Tuesday, according to bodycam footage from the officer who fired the shots just minutes before the verdict in George Floyd’s killing was read.
Officials with the Columbus Division of Police showed a segment of the footage Tuesday night just hours after the shooting took place in a neighborhood on the city’s east side. The decision to swiftly release the video was a departure from protocol as the force faces immense scrutiny from the public following a series of recent high-profile police killings that have led to clashes.
The 10-second clip begins with the officer getting out of his car at a house where police had been dispatched after someone called 911 saying they were being physically threatened, Interim Police Chief Michael Woods said at the news conference. The officer takes a few steps toward a group of people in the driveway when the girl, who was Black, starts swinging a knife wildly at another girl or woman, who falls backward. The officer shouts several times to get down.

Americans' distrust of the press goes deeper than partisanship and comes down to how journalists define their very mission, according to a new study from the Media Insight Project, a collaboration between the American Press Institute and AP-NORC. @dbauder
The study defined five core principles or beliefs that drive most journalists. And it found that non-journalists offer unqualified majority support for only one of them – the idea that the press should provide people with facts.
I wonder how exactly journalists "define their job a certain way." And their "set of principles". Probably more like the Pulitzer Prize-winning Moscow bureau chief of The New York Times, Walter Duranty, than Gareth Jones:

Less than a third of the respondents agreed completely with the idea that it’s important to aggressively point out problems. Only 11% of the public, most of them liberals, offered full support to all five ideas.
Believe it or not, most journalists are pretty sincere, said Rosenstiel, a former reporter for the Los Angeles Times and Newsweek.
“Regular people should note that when journalists say they are just doing their job, they actually mean that,” he said, “because they define their job a certain way. They’re not lying. They really don’t think of themselves as secret agents of the Democratic Party. They have these set of principles that they think they’re upholding.”

Vandals Smear Chauvin Defense Witness’ Former Santa Rosa Home With Pig’s Blood
April 17, 2021 at 11:46 pm
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) — The former Santa Rosa home of Barry Brodd, who testified as a defense witness in the Derrick Chauvin murder trial, was smeared with pig’s blood and had a severed pig’s head dumped on the front porch in an early Saturday morning vandalism attack.
Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, is currently on trial facing murder charges in the death of George Floyd.
Santa Rosa police said officers responded at 3:07 a.m. to a residence in a west Santa Rosa neighborhood that had just been vandalized.
Investigators believe the vandals thought that Brodd — a former Santa Rosa police officer — still lived at the residence, but he has been a Santa Rosa resident for a number of years.
“Because Mr. Brodd no longer lives in the city of Santa Rosa, it appears the victim was falsely targeted,” police said in a news release.
The suspects also left a sign in front of the statue which had a picture of a pig and read “Oink Oink.” They were seen fleeing the area and matched the descriptions of the suspects who vandalized the house.

The shooting occurred shortly before 4:20 a.m. in the Jordan neighborhood near the intersection of Penn Avenue and Broadway in northwest Minneapolis. Operation Safety Net is a joint effort among the Minneapolis Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the State of Minnesota and local jurisdictions.
"I am relieved to know none of our Guardsmen were seriously injured," said Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke. "This event highlights the volatility and tension in our communities right now. I ask for peace as we work through this difficult time."
The Minnesota National Guard was activated as part of the effort, but many have been critical of the guard's presence in Minneapolis neighborhoods this week amid tension with the Derek Chauvin trial and the recent Brooklyn Center police killing of 20-year-old Daunte Wright. Demonstrators have called on the guard to "go home."
One guard member was injured from shattered glass and taken to the hospital while the other guardsman received "only superficial injuries," according to Operation Safety Net.
- Ashli Babbit was part of a violent armed mob that assaulted cops, other people shouted "kill mike pence."
She deserved to be shot dead for poking her head through a door. Police were just doing their job.
- Antifa fights cops, throw fireworks at them, other peaceful protesters shouted "Pigs in a blanket. Smells like Bacon." "Pigs in blanket! Fry em like bacon."
Police brutality!

Tonight in Washington DC the community came out for Justice for Black Lives Lost. This was within moments of March organizing, the bike cops moved to front of group.

Arrests made in #DC after dispersal notice #Antifa #BLM #riots
DCYLF (#Antifa) suggesting throwing fireworks at officers to stop arrests of rioters.
#BLM Rioter who was arrested claims they had a "peaceful" march. Neglects to mention the whole throwing fireworks and assaulting officers part

Another angle of fight between #Antifa/#BLM and DC Police. Shoutout to the cop who picked up the shield and used it for himself.
Worth noting that all these videos are from #Antifa "Approved" press so the cuts that are happening mostly cut out them instigating this stuff
Several more #antifa in black bloc were stopped, think they were just searched not arrested
I am always right.

REPUBLICANS ARE BASICALLY STARTING A WHITE SUPREMACIST CAUCUS
They want to preserve “uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” like discrimination against non-white people.

GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger Calls on Party to Expel 'White Supremacy Caucus' Led By Marjorie Taylor Greene
BY DANIEL VILLARREAL ON 4/16/21 AT 11:03 PM EDT
"I believe anyone that joins this caucus should have their committees stripped, and the Republican conference should expel them from conference participation," Kinzinger wrote in a Friday evening tweet. "While we can't prevent someone from calling themselves Republican, we can loudly say they don't belong to us."
The new caucus was co-founded by Republican Arizona Representative Paul Gosar. The group's platform pushes the repeatedly disproven falsehood that U.S. 2020 election was troubled by widespread fraud. The platform also expresses a desire to shrink the size of the federal government.
The group opposes all COVID-19 lockdown orders, international climate change agreements, foreign aid, granting of asylum to immigrant refugees and birthright citizenship. Its platform warns that "mass immigration" threatens "the long-term existential future of America as a unique country with a unique culture and a unique identity."
The caucus also opposes any educational efforts that "undermine pride in America's great history and is actively hostile to the civic and cultural assimilation necessary for a strong nation."
Lastly, its platform advocates for peace talks with North Korea and Russia as well as increased stimulus payments for financially struggling U.S. residents.
tfw America First has a socialist underbelly. For shame.
