Ugh, the truth about this situation is so much worse. Apparently this guy - Jayantha - been in the news for the last year or two. He shamelessly made a big deal about how he was mistreated by the immigration bureau. That attention helped pressure people to let him stay "temporarily". With this he's been able to become a minor eceleb influencer and get help from Japanese leftists. One of the channels pushing him and organizing protests on his behalf is "Listen to the Voiceless by Fuki."

So the short video clip Colonel Gatekeeper translated borrowed a clip from this video on Fuki's channel, and the rest is a politician making the claims about the Sri Lankan's criminality and saying you've all been hoodwinked. It should be easy enough to verify, but really the whole situation is worse for Japan if you believe it. It means all these people are complicit in his crimes. At the very least they are guilty of the suicidal empathy Elon Musk has been talking about, and they will ruin their country to satisfy their emotional impulses.
