Yes this is true, feminists are often guilty of extrapolating the fuck out of studies that confirm their biases. I have seen that study quoted but I wouldn't be surprised if it's along the same lines of 2% of rape accusations are false, which is something that feminists really believe and then you look at the actual study they cite and realise they not only can't do maths they can't do basic chart reading either.
Back in the MRA days I was very curious about this and we all started digging and it turned out they had taken some survey done on court cases involving rape accusations and the like. It turned out that feminists earnestly believed that the 96% or however ridiculous amount it was was a rapist going free because they believe that an accusation alone should land someone in jail. I thought this might be interesting to bring up on how feminists come to their conclusions because I find it a fascinating glimpse into their mindset.
That survey formed the whole basis for them going after provably falsely accused men who were defending themselves or people pointing out it was an issue. No no it wasn't the fact that they had gotten it completely fucking wrong and were attacking completely innocent guys, it's the patriarchy you guys /s
